Tekken 6

Movement is really toned down in Tekken 6, as someone who has played it, the overall movement is the worst out of any Tekken since they introduced SS into Tekken back in T3.

BDC is really, really bad in this game, SS is toned down as well, however as much as it's a jugglefest in Tekken6, I don't want to discourage people who really want to play Tekken6 to not play it.

Because seriously, play it if you truly love the game, and just simply enjoy it. For me, I look at it from a competitive standpoint, which is why you see me vent so much frustration for it, however if your just playing casually, then their is no reason to wanting to drop T6.

As for that rage video chit, thats a very old, old clip, from last year, when the Rage was only in it's second stage of being toned down, so it was still ridiculously overpowered. Now in present Tekken 6, it's more toned down from that video, however it's still dumb.

From a newbie standpoint, Tekken 6 is the Tekken game in which you can learn to pick it up quite fast and then with it, your able to do decently well up against solid opponents. Because if you know how to crush/launch and go into a bound and juggle (which btw, doesn't take alot of effort whatsoever), you can do a hefty amount of damage.

I've been randomly crushed out of things in Tekken 6 into huge juggle and bound damage, even wallsplat if it's there...so yeah, it happens.

Sorry but what is BDC and SS again?

BDC ='s BackDashCancel

SS ='s SideStep

Hope it that helps out bro 😄

Yikes...toning down side step isn't a good thing. You know how frustrating it is to sidestep with Christie in 5...it's pointless trying to get behing the opponent with Eddie/Christie. Pretty much everyone else can do it well.

WHEATSTRAWWW RULEZ!!!!!!!! YEAHH!!!

I'm interested in what's going to happen to Jin in this one. It would be interesting to Jin's Devil form when he absorded Jinpachi!

Just so everyone who may be interested...

Namco will be releasing another version of Tekken 6, called...Tekken 6 Blood Rebellion...if you want new information on it, go to this link...

http://sdtekken.com

Hopefully Namco will address the stupidity of Bound, and how much of a juggle fest Tekken 6 has become. From a casual player point of view and business standpoint, it has drawn alot of new Tekken players to play, but from a competitive standpoint, T6 has gone down the crapper.

FIX the game engine Namco, that way T6:BR will actually be a vast improvement over T6...do not start going on a nerfing spree with guys like Bob and all now...character balance issue is not the problem here.

Still, I'll be looking forward to seeing more of Tekken 6 BR and how it will truly turn out to be, not to mention, can't wait to try it out, hopefully it will revive my enthusiasm for the series again.

It is hilarious to see you rant. I mean that in the most non-derogatory way possible. 😂

I'm glad someone agrees with me about the juggle-gasm though. My friends think T6 is the shnazziest shit ever.

I'm just frustrated at the way fighting games or the companies who have made these well established fighting games have put them into the scrubtastic level that they are now on.

I miss what was once Tekken, gone are the days of individualism for characters, where the last time they actually had character diversity of how they where played was T4.

Back then, when Paul brought you to the floor, you got killed, where Ling would evade, and AOP you to oblivion, where Nina would play her RunAway Hiyashida game on you all day, where Steve was a true powerhouse turtling character, where Kazuya would look to destroy with you CH Ewgf hunting.

There was a ton of character uniqueness then, and more importantly, defense was such an important role, in fact it played just as much, if not, a even greater role then the super offensive prowess in T4.

However, here we are in 2008...where fighting games (not just T6) have gone down the line of being scrubby, and too newbie friendly. Alot of people just want to get "good" easily, and without much effort, they just want to look "cool" in front of their buddies or to other random people watching them.

Given, some fighting games seem to be going back to being competitive again (SF:IV for example seems to show very strong indications of that thus far, which is good because that is without a doubt my main fighting game series), however the same can't be said for Tekken 6.

Damage is too high, it's become a Launch/Hopkick/Crush/Low into Juggle+Bound mentality, for every single character. So what's the difference if I pick Jin to Chreddy? Sure Jin has some better options, and is more safe...however Jin is still going to try to launch/hopkick/crush/low into juggle+bound his way to victory.

Oh wait...that's what I have to do with Chreddy too...but the only difference is that he/she just has more crappy options, and is more unsafe that's all, however the same mentality to win...yep, gotta love the character individualism here 🙄 .

Get real Namco, you can cater to the "generics" all you want, however many of us from the competitive community feel that you've really made us dislike a series that we really loved for so many years.

It's not like I hate T6 either, it has potential after I've played it many times over now (though I always play it with one eye closed..because it's so horrendous), it just needs to be tweaked at the right spots, and the potential of that game could really be there...maybe T6:BR will do it...or maybe they just might follow the T5 series trend...by just trying to make characters more balance and that will hopefully "make things better", I mean...you really can't get hit by lightning twice now right?

However, I am hopeful, because if they can make SC4 seem like an improvement over SC3, which so far at this point, it feels very strongly to be that way, then why not for Tekken 6. All that Namco needs to do is limit the rage more, and lower the juggle potential after Bound, and possibly even toning down the wall bound as well. Just those three tweaks, and the game would be better improved already.

So here's a shot of 151, so hopefully T6:BR brings the joy of me playing Tekken back once again!

It seems like the 1st person to pull off an instant kill combo will win. Looks good tho but if I had a PS3 and this game I would be throwin it against the wall alot. I will tune in on this game for the story tho, I wanna know what happens to Jin and Kazuya.

This bad boy here aint gonna match the greatness that is SCIV, I can see that already.

Worry not since Tekken 6 has been announced for a 09 fall release on 360 & PS3. I knew this was coming, but I don't care since Tekken is a great franchise and I'm glad more people will get to play it. I will still get it for the PS3 since I am used the PS controller and cannot even imagine how I will play it on the 360--I put the controller down and press buttons with my index and midle fingers ala arcade.

Only downside is that it is still a long way ahead and I am wondering if development for the 360 version has anything to do with the release.

Looks like we need to the update the title of this thread. 😛

I concur.

Very nice find... as for the title change.. I'm not exactly sure how to do that.. I think the mods have to?

Yeah that is the mods' job.

I"M A MODEDATRO!! LULz!

It will be change.

Now, what does this mean? As far as know Tekken was one of the games from the original playstation that help the console take off. Why would Namco pull this on Sony? Even worse...at the TGS! That's only months after Square Enix announce that the FF 13 is coming to the 360.

As for the game...sure! Why not? Tekken maybe overhyped but it always looks like something to play with...and with XBL...should be entertaining.

that you get to play Tekken even if you weren't interested in it?

So we can all agree that multiplatform is good for the industry....

....Aha! Gotcha there. 😛

Interesting, I always thought the Tekken series looked interesting, but it was always on the wrong console, now might get to try it after all.
