It is hilarious to see you rant. I mean that in the most non-derogatory way possible. 😂I'm glad someone agrees with me about the juggle-gasm though. My friends think T6 is the shnazziest shit ever.
I'm just frustrated at the way fighting games or the companies who have made these well established fighting games have put them into the scrubtastic level that they are now on.
I miss what was once Tekken, gone are the days of individualism for characters, where the last time they actually had character diversity of how they where played was T4.
Back then, when Paul brought you to the floor, you got killed, where Ling would evade, and AOP you to oblivion, where Nina would play her RunAway Hiyashida game on you all day, where Steve was a true powerhouse turtling character, where Kazuya would look to destroy with you CH Ewgf hunting.
There was a ton of character uniqueness then, and more importantly, defense was such an important role, in fact it played just as much, if not, a even greater role then the super offensive prowess in T4.
However, here we are in 2008...where fighting games (not just T6) have gone down the line of being scrubby, and too newbie friendly. Alot of people just want to get "good" easily, and without much effort, they just want to look "cool" in front of their buddies or to other random people watching them.
Given, some fighting games seem to be going back to being competitive again (SF:IV for example seems to show very strong indications of that thus far, which is good because that is without a doubt my main fighting game series), however the same can't be said for Tekken 6.
Damage is too high, it's become a Launch/Hopkick/Crush/Low into Juggle+Bound mentality, for every single character. So what's the difference if I pick Jin to Chreddy? Sure Jin has some better options, and is more safe...however Jin is still going to try to launch/hopkick/crush/low into juggle+bound his way to victory.
Oh wait...that's what I have to do with Chreddy too...but the only difference is that he/she just has more crappy options, and is more unsafe that's all, however the same mentality to win...yep, gotta love the character individualism here 🙄 .
Get real Namco, you can cater to the "generics" all you want, however many of us from the competitive community feel that you've really made us dislike a series that we really loved for so many years.
It's not like I hate T6 either, it has potential after I've played it many times over now (though I always play it with one eye closed..because it's so horrendous), it just needs to be tweaked at the right spots, and the potential of that game could really be there...maybe T6:BR will do it...or maybe they just might follow the T5 series trend...by just trying to make characters more balance and that will hopefully "make things better", I mean...you really can't get hit by lightning twice now right?
However, I am hopeful, because if they can make SC4 seem like an improvement over SC3, which so far at this point, it feels very strongly to be that way, then why not for Tekken 6. All that Namco needs to do is limit the rage more, and lower the juggle potential after Bound, and possibly even toning down the wall bound as well. Just those three tweaks, and the game would be better improved already.
So here's a shot of 151, so hopefully T6:BR brings the joy of me playing Tekken back once again!
