Well, that just proves the downfall of civilization, nothing more. I can't believe people pay to not only play WoW, but to buy gold and other crap. It's called having no life and generally being antisocial.

😂 Well you could say that games, such as CoD, simulating brutal warfare and having players in multiplayer customize to be able to kill as many people as possible as a "downfall of civilization."

That's why I play stealthy games like Thief, Hitman, Splinter Cell, and Assassins Creed🙂

Ah, slicing peoples' throats from behind. So civilized! 😈

I really wish I'd played Splinter Cell. I got through like the first mission on the first and fourth game, never got any further.

15 dollars a month isn't too bad until you realized you spent 180 in a year.

That's typically the month by month rate. If you do 3 month, 6 month, 12 month subscription types, the rates always drop. All Turbine games, for example, are less than 10 bucks a month if you do yearly subscription.

Considering most of you have internet on your cell phones that exceeds 10-20 bucks a month, arguing cost seems a matter of having not reconsidered all your priorities and expenses. Spending $120 to a $140 a year is a small expense in comparison with cell phone internet, which ranges from 10-30 a month, and has the wonderful aspect of letting you go online for a limited amount of time at a slower pace than a computer and substantially less fun.

Or you could play TOR.

Just saying.

I agree, personally. I would say the average person with a job probably spends close to that every day, on random shit anyway. How much money per year does the average person, even a health conscious invidiual, spend eating out?

From that perspective, it's really not that big a deal.

Eating out was my other example, good point. I spend 5-10 bucks eating out at work, after discount. It adds up.

Splinter Cell was awesome. I didn't like the most recent one very much because it went away from classic Splinter Cell gameplay, but it was awesome nonetheless. Favorite has to be Double Agent.

I thought all of the Splinter Cell games were excellent. Learning to use cover for stealth also preps you for DX HR pretty well. Makes all those stealth augs pretty much useless.

How was the storyline in comparison to the original? I always thought Deus Ex had the greatest storyline of all time.

Well as a student using most of my money from my college job to pay for my daily expenditure (food, gas [since I have my car], other expenses), I'm slightly hesitant on spending too much daily. Though my scholarship gives me the excuse to horde money from the 'rents if need be 😄

One of the best. Some games definitely give it a run for its money, if not better.

Haven't beaten it, but so far, it surpasses the original quite a bit. The subtle stuff is strong too, and the attention to detail.

Average job pays 7-9 bucks an hour, even washing dishes or bussing tables. You could work 20 hours in a week and invest that money in a years' worth of subscriptions. Or work 10 hours in two weeks. Really, it's just extra income at very little personal expense.

I work on average 10 hours weekly for $9/hour (I just started my job recently). I can't manage anymore because I'm going to be handling 17 credits in the fall- I'm probably going to drop a class to make that 14, since I need strong grades and have to balance ECs.

But yeah, that money more or less covers my weekly expenditure. Whatever rest I have I save.

*sighs*

I work 40 hours a week and haven't even officially started college yet. Can we trade places? 😛

Haha I would love to take a year off, except I would lose my scholarship if I did that :/ .....

Be careful with that trap. I fell into it for five years. I'm just now getting back in college. Had I been able to stay, I'd be teaching full time already.

What exactly is your profession, if you don't mind me asking?

I used to work at various call centers for years. Good pay and benefits, horrible work. But then I moved, and got a job handling cash at a bar. I'm the guy everyone accounts to at the end of the night, basically.

I was/am now going to class to teach history, so I can finally have a captive audience and get paid for it.

That's great to hear! I love history.

Yeah, I have a long road ahead of me before I get my first legitimate job.
