Killer read. I love how philalawyer has slowly moved away from writing about law to writing about economics. He definitely understands the fundamentals.

Yes.Or was this an attempt at sarcasm?
(And you wonder why people think you're a bigot.)
Calling him gay is what we all do, sarcasm or not. And by people do you mean 1-2 defensive souls that need to make themselves feel better by using one of many emotional trigger words? Or are you suggesting being homosexual is as normal as heterosexuality? Either way, I'm sorry I offended your homosexualdelicate ears and I'll try to be more respect of the gay and lesbian community on this forum.
I have been forced this quarter to take a number of low level classes to plug some holes (oh snap!) in my list of classes necessary to graduate. One of these classes is Heath, which is really just a class on the current status of healthcare with some poor man's capitalism thrown in.
Today, we had a discussion around how healthcare could be fixed, which was surprisingly civil . . . well, almost. You see, in our class we had this bastion of tea party wisdom, a forty something gun totin' 'Merican from my home state of Arizona. Whatever kinship I felt to my fellow Arizonian brother, quickly vanished when it became it apparent he was a retard.
You see, our friend correctly pointed out the constitution doesn't make any mention of right to healthcare and thus we should stop making ERs serve people. If shit happens and you don't have coverage, too fucking bad, you get to eat shit and die. It was not a surprising path for a teabagger to take, considering how they probably wrap a copy of the document around their dicks and wank off to it, but I digress.
I remarked that healthcare as we know it didn't exist in the heady days of the late 18th century and thus is was unrealistic to presume the rich aristocratic pricksframers of the aforementioned wanktoydocument would have any inkling that any mention of “healthcare” would be needed. Healthcare didn't even really come about until the 1930s with the revolutions in antibiotics, penicillin, and systemic changes to how healthcare was managed. I pointed this out, but apparently this was too much information for the teabagger's brain.
“It's still not in the constitution,” he insisted. If this had been online, I'd have started busting out the ad hominen attacks and explaining to the creature why he was an abject moron in need of help from a doctor to help him overcome his delusions and sup par intelligence, but alas, this is a college classroom.
I then explained to our erudite friend that the framers of the constitution, being well read rich white men, knew of Heraclitus' potent maxim and understood that there was no way they could legislate the future. They created a way for the constitution to be modified. It's not easy (nor should it be, law being what it is,) but the system is still there. At that point, I figured the debate would center on if the wanking document should be modified.
“We need to stick to the constitution,” he said. “Too many changes, we need to go back to the way things were.” At that point the professor, sensing hostility about to erupt from my mouth in form of crass verbage, took charge of the situation and steered the conversation to another topic.
While most of the time it's shit, college has its fun moments.
EDIT,
I almost forgot, we have this stunningly hawt French foreign exchange student in class. While the teabagger talked, I could practically see the words stupides américains hovering above her head in a thought bubble.

Rush sounds great live, but via recording, Geddy's voice is prone to jumping off key intermittently. But he was never renown for his vocal abilities anyway. That's a misconception, I think. The '80s saw very well-crafted music and stellar musicians, Journey and Toto being among the forefront.
Agreed with both. I've seen Rush twice at DTE. For three dudes, they make a lot of good noise.

I'm leaning toward cure. If we end up in a fighting retreat from the Reapers, it will be nice to have an expanding population of invincible alligator warriors.
Yeah, thats definately a factor, but I dunno if it'd make enough of a difference. The Krogan breed alot and mature very quickly, but how quickly exactly? It'll need to be very, very stupidly fast or we'll be fighting the Reapers with babies.
And then you have the problem of getting rid of the Reapers just to have the Krogan take their place. Wrex won't be able to control them if the phage is cured I don't think.
