Odd discussion on the last few pages that I missed. 😕
I think Star Wars has come considerably close to turning the Force into a "magic fiesta" on par with DC comics and Marvel. Using the Force to create illusions? Using the Force to summon an attack that can instantly kill its victim? Using the Force to drain the Force in such a way that it can kill its victim? Using the Force to create a nearly unstoppable storm of energy that obliterates Starfleets?
Preposterous.
Personally, I prefer the original trilogy's depiction of the Force. When being able to choke a guy from across a room, lift a multi-ton starship out of a swamp, and cast lethal bolts of Force-based electricity from one's hands was considered "uber powerful".
On the subject of superheroes, Magneto is one of my favorites. Comic book Magneto can manipulate anything on the electromagnetic spectrum, enhance his physical strength to be on par with the Hulk and Juggernaut, is a certified genius, and can repel psionic attacks from the most powerful of telepaths (Xavier and Jean Grey).
While on the subject of "magic vs the Force", though, I got in a very heated debate on Janus's forums, which ultimately caused a severe rift between myself and the administration, in a thread called 'Voldemort vs. Marka Ragnos'.
Not that magic takes priority over the Force, but it does allow the user (Voldemort) a far more versified and larger lexicon of attacks and assaults. I proposed that Voldemort, who could cast a spell that instantly kills its victim, being able to teleport at will, and has multiple spells and is one of the most powerful wizards in the world, would be able to defeat even the most powerful Force user...
I was nearly alone in that argument, though. 😛

not really, the force can do more, technically you can do evreything with the force, attack, heal, meditate, telekenesis, magic is only teleport, white magic and black magic,
With magic one could create anything, destroy almost anything. The force can really create anything.
Magic>force

The Force was meant to be Mystical, not Magical. Blame the EU.The Sith ghosts also screw with continuity, and probably shouldn't exist in the first place!
Personally, I would put Magic above the Force. It can do more, really...
Same here.
Especially, like I said, in a match like 'Voldemort vs. Ragnos', 'Voldemort vs. Yoda', or 'Voldemort vs. Luke' or 'Voldemort vs. any single Force user'.
See, they argued that I put magic above the Force. Not really, though. If Ragnos fires off Force lightning, Voldemort can simply summon a shield out of thin air to deflect it. If a lightsaber can block and deflect Force lightning, why can't a powerful, enchanted shield?
Not to say that Ragnos's attacks wouldn't have the same effect. If he ever hit Voldemort with Force lightning or a Force push, I could see it having the same effect that it does on anyone else. Causing vast amounts of pain, or killing him if used constantly.
But, Voldemort's a guy who can teleport at will, conjure objects out of thin air, and - as I said - he can produce curses that can kill anybody or any living thing upon impact.
Due to that, I'd say he'd defeat any Force user.
But, I was alone. They talked about Force precognition, superspeed, and all that jazz.
I depends on what world you have.
Like Rand al'Thor could pretty much waste any SW character because all he needs to do is wave his hand and caused them to explode, or erase them from existance, or fry them with insta-kill lightning, or freez them into ice, or boil their blood, or squeez them apart with air, or...
It really all depends on what world and setting.
