Also if you wanted a good Magneto story then look no further than X-Men: Magneto Testament, a five issue Magneto origin that is unusually dark and sombre and incredibly emotional, serving as both an interesting look at Magneto's origin and a historically accurate depiction of the times, and X-Men: Legacy #208-225 features perhaps the finest run where you see Xavier as the central character, and observes some of the more questionable decisions he's made over the years with his telepathy and raises questions over his desire to play god with his powers, and in general casts him in more of a morally ambiguous light.

The Editing Room pointed that out in their spoof of ROTJ. What's also hilarious is that every time Luke calls on the dark side in his fight with Vader, Sidious immediately crows about it, which snaps Luke out of it.
