Just leave the socks be, folks. I know it can be a pain when they spam into a thread but in any meaningful sense they are irrelevant. Ignoring them works best.

Yea, but it's still hard to resist sometimes. I mean, they don't seem to realize just how dumb they sound.
It just makes me want to say, "Dear socks: Your actions are pointless and stupid. You're wasting your time and if it hasn't worked so far, for several years of you trying, what makes you think it's going to do anything now? Just, y'know, move on. Get over it. It's just a forum. Not to mention, other people are trying to use the forum. If you weren't here, then Ush wouldn't even have a reason to show up at all, and all you're doing is making people respect him more by giving him something useful to do. It's all very counter-productive."

Decided to tackle Legacy today. I hope it's not as terrible as I've imagined it to be. The fact that the storyline basically spits in the face of all the struggles the good guys have made since ANH already rankles, but at this point my jadedness with the EU has allowed me to get over that pretty quickly.

The comic? You'll probably like it.

And heck, it's the legacy of the force/etc. novels that really spit on things. They're the ones with "you defeated the Empire! Now get a stream of corrupt politicians and people falling to the dark side."

Legacy has people like the Galactic Alliance remnant and Jedi in hiding who you can really root for, and who're around because of the struggles the good characters made before them.

There's a reason why you weren't around when the majority of us were and when you showed up, we left. It's not us, it's you.

Yea, you saw me coming, what, a year in advance? 😉

Anyway, you aren't rebels, you're ordinary run of the mill trolls like any other on the net. I get that you didn't like being banned, but there's no reason to be petulant about it for so long. Move on.

Yes I know. But the fact is that the feebleness of a persistent sock speaks for itself, so we don't need to draw more attention to it.

Do report if a sock is excessively spamming and I'll clear things out.

Seeing as how I was banned maybe 2 months ago, your numbers seem to be off, but that doesn't surprise me because as soon as we saw you come on, we left. So congratulations, this forum consists of you, 2-3 other people, and the admin who's been the butt of every joke for as long as I can remember🙂

I have no idea who you are. I think the only people who got banned recently were pretty crappy anyway, not so much the people who discussed SW.

But hey, you're 'new' to it? 2-3 months nursing a grudge pointlessly (if that can be called new)? Good, that means you'll probably grow out of it.

Anyway, back to ignoring.

Ah yes, the tried and true "I had you on ignore but I somehow took you off to respond to you repeatedly and now you're back on" comment. For the life of me, I can't imagine why you're pretty much the only one left on this subforum. 😆

You can ignore someone without putting them on ignore.

Yep, I've got no-one on actual ignore-ignore.

It is funny how he's trying to paint it as 'sad' that multiple people... stay around and have conversations and get opinions on stuff, when he... stays around and acts like it's a big deal that he gets banned and re-banned a lot without actually having any fun conversations.

This coming from the guy who says making socks does nothing...And then engages in conversation spanning multiple posts.. Let me know if you're having trouble keeping up.

It does nothing to *accomplish your objectives*.

And you aren't talking about fun stuff, you're just talking about why you sock.

If you want to try and convince me, at least talk about Star Wars.

My objective is to annoy and insult Ush with as little effort as possible. That's a success. And in case you're still not getting it, you're in a social thread. Want to talk about Star Wars? See the other threads.

I seriously doubt people left because they got fed up of the people on this forum. More likely their interest in SW just declined.

Although we do randomly get people from the comic book and movie forums popping in now and again. Probably because CW is increasing SW hype again.

People left because they got tired of star wars but more importantly, the stupidity of Ush. When the admin of a particular forum has the iq of a common chimp, it's time to move.

Bingo.

I popped in from anime ^^

I'm about 5 issues into Legacy. I also read all of Obsession and Grievous yesterday.

The comics are the best part of EU.

The parallels between Legacy and the OT (which, of course, are intentional) really irk me, from the "Star Destroyer" shaped... Star Destroyers to the "Rebel Alliance verses the evil Empire with the Jedi scattered and betrayed by the Galaxy they were sworn to protect" and the mysterious Princess blahdyblah of the Rebel Alliance who gets saved by the wayward good guys, transported home, and acts as the driving cause for the protagonist to get involved with the Rebel's plight.

It's all very stuff I've seen a thousand times, and Cade is a slightly superior version of Captain Mal.

That being said I find myself enjoying the comic quite a bit. Everything from its art to the little sub-plots possesses a bit of charm, even if the storyline is all just one big cliche filled with other cliches.

It's pretty sad when the best part of the EU is a carbon-copy of the original.

I hear the Kotor comics are pretty good.
