The Battle Bar, Our Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy

But you do think that people in the poverty demographic are at fault for being there?

I don't understand the question? Some are some aren't, unless you're claiming everyone who is poor is poor through no fault of his own.

But for the most part, on average, those with few resources only have themselves to blame for having so few resources?

Nope. Those with few resources have few resources. That's it. I think a large portion of the population that's poor just happens to be lazy and deadbeat (gasp!). A large portion of the rich also happens to fall into money. You have both types on both socioeconomic and it's very easy to say "look at Norway, do it that way!"

I didn't work my ass off to get into Amazon. I got in there with some help. But once I got in there, I worked my ass off. My parents and their friends are the "American Dream" success stories. That hardly goes for everybody, still not sure where you got the idea that's what I said.

But if you're going to use the patented Sorgo retard logic (and I'm not saying you will) and tell me that rich people don't need an X amount of money, I'll just accuse you of being bitter without any logical basis.

The fact that I'm incredibly insecure and have anxiety 24/7 about being so blessed in life is the main reason I give to charities, and why I try to believe in God or a God.

Hardly, but it sounded like you were arguing the opposite. Apparently not.

I won't argue out of a belief of misplaced "need" of resource X in X amounts. I will argue the personal logic many of the wealthy have of hoarding fortunes. It wades over in to philosophy, but... whether it be gained through effort, luck, or immorality, possessing stupendous amounts of money and resources that are not put to worthwhile use is just... wasteful. The high-tax nations seem to have at least some sense of that and redistribute the resources for better use elsewhere.

Your contention seems to be whether that actually is worthwhile or not. Whether the quality of life they experience is worth a system that requires so much personal contribution. I'm thinking that you don't.

But then who gets to decide how much is too much? And I'm of the belief that if a person makes his fortune or hell, even gets into it somehow, whether family or luck, it's his to play with no matter how much of a douchebag he is. I have a hard time subscribing to a "distribution of wealth" theory.

I don't know how to do something like that with 300+ million people, and I do wholeheartedly believe that there will be a large amount of people that abuse this. It's a "damned if you do damned if you don't" scenario.

But it's much more difficult than saying "look at what the Nordic countries are doing, do that!"

Because he's entertaining, not because he's interesting. His manic hamminess in RotS was the only bit of genuine energy and liveliness in the movie, something it badly needed.

Nonsense. Palpatine captures the audience's attention, which is the crux of interest. His appeal is such that even outspoken critics consistently refer to him as a positive (sometimes the positive) element of the story. Vitiate hasn't remotely inspired such acclaim or feedback from the audience, whereas I can literally bury you in such for Palpatine.

But its not as if anyone went 'man, I really want to know what makes him tick!'

A novel dedicated to exploring "what makes Palpatine tick" achieved near-universal acclaim from critics and fans.

Hmmmm, I'd say so. Even people who say the Jedi Knight campaign is flat say that it picks up when you go after the Emperor.

A video game picks up when you encroach upon the Big Bad? You don't say. That doesn't necessarily reflect on the appeal of the Big Bad, though, but the heightened stakes and pace of the plot approaching the climax.

Picking aside, we both know Palpatine is the more interesting and iconic character and we both know it's really not close.

I admit that novel was very good.

I know you do. It's a hell of a lot better than anything written in the TOR era.

Ironically, I'm not nearly as big of a fan of Plagueis as the rest of the Star Wars-loving public is.

I hated that novel.

Well. Amazing Spider-Man 2 was, in my opinion, better than the first. And damn. Jamie Fox is awesome at being a black guy playing a blue guy.

I'll only see it for Emma Stone. I'd have her babies.

Also, Mr. Trainer lost.

Yay spider man for teenagers. Also no.

Amazing Spiderman 1 was pretty meh. I'm not interested in this one.

Again it's for teenagers

Luckily I'm mentally like, 15 so its cool.

But it still didn't interest me.

It has a black guy playing a blue guy. I went for that.

And Emma Stone.

Then, there's the one from the original pic...

What you're about to see may disturb you.

I am Stealth Moose, and this is my favorite post on KMC.

You are mentally a platypus.

Okay guys, I have a couple of things to say.

One, your conduct here has disappointed me greatly. Janus, I'm seeing some stuff from you that borders uncomfortably on antisemitism. You should probably take it down a notch. DS... come on, dude. Ideological differences and stretches of brotherly love notwithstanding, I'll never understand the thrill you derive from perverting the truth. I've seen you do it a lot, and I know it's not restricted to KMC/the derived forums. I accept it as part of your inscrutable charm at this point, although you should at least be slick about it. Now I didn't read much of the video game nonsense, but let's not be silly about REX's involvement in the whole affair. We both know how that worked, and I'd rather not sully my honor by posting PMs to prove it. Pretty much that whole sequence was straight demolition work though (I know this is one of your "lol@" moments, take it away). At the end of the day, I know your Bruce Banner lies pathologically and spites indiscriminately, but your Hulk is actually a pretty chill dude. So stay angry, brah.

Two, I was hoping that my 10,000th post would be the 36,000th post in this thread. I have made a habit of claiming the thousandths whenever possible, and I wish you'd let me commemorate this once in a lifetime occasion properly. I am very hurt.

Three, apparently I lied about this being a once in a lifetime occasion. Let's run down the list of socks who've partaken in this debacle.

1. Stealth Moose = Janus
2. The Renegade = Sorgo
3. psmithwhateverwhatever = tdtd and co.
4. The_Tempest = Gideon
5. Tzeentch. = Blax
6. Zampano = technically, a now anonymous, defunct account created when he was twelve. I secretly hope he'll one day reveal himself to be my Israeli broheim Master Crimzon.

Like, the fuck, guys.

Can anyone link me to where Faunus f*cks DS/TDTD?

Also, I wanna swear. How come Faunus gets to swear?

*Angrily jumps up and down.*

Blax is a sock?

Quack.

(do platyp....ii? quack? idk)

Do Janus and I really count as socks, though? I always thought that in order to be a sock, your main account had to be banned under punishment. I asked Lana to ban my old account because I forgot the password and Janus... idk what actually happened to Janus.
