Also, I had a concert last night so I missed the show.

That and the fact that the show is now split between the team doing more and more of the diagnosing and House resolving personal issues. It's become a medical drama mixed with a drama.

Honestly, I like House, but I don't see how people go apeshit over it. There's no progression or evolution in the character and nothing aside of his sarcasm that is truly entertaining. In all seriousness, Alan Shore is a far greater anti-hero.

It's the lack of character development that people like. Same with Seinfeld's golden rule: "No hugging, no learning."

Without progression, you get stagnation. Even Palpatine progressed... in villainy.

Which explains the emerging stagnation on the show and the writer's failing attempts to make it more interesting by driving House himself away from the medical parts and more into his own personal drama.
