No, you can't.
Yeah, you can.

Yeah, I imagine people who were fans of the original character were pissed.
Skillz and I were fans of the original and we didn't mind. Many of the reigning Doctor Strange experts and fans I talk to both IRL and on ComicVine didn't really think it was that big a deal and they liked the character. Because the core part of the character was there. What's important was there.

I disagree.
Then that's really just your own personal issue you have to work out. If such irrelevant things like race and sexuality get to you, then the fault isn't in a movie showing diversity, but you who can't accept it.

Me too. More diversity gives more options and things to see which is desperately needed in the Hollywood landscape where fewer and fewer risks are being taken. What's not? Having minority actors play white characters? It completely is because there's no need for it and it alters the details of a work that fans love because of those details.
The human race is very different. The character's depicted the way they are in their original work are set in stone. That's the difference.
Neither do I. That's one of the reasons I was disappointed they didn't have Susannah, a black cripple character, in the movie.
So you agree with me diversity is important. Good. So why does an adaption -- which are known to change things around -- trigger you when a character's race, sexuality or gender is different if that's an irrelevant part of the character?
