It won't have anything to do with her cunning relative to Daenerys.
Sel will still be upset tho.

For good reason, Cersei is waifu.

Cersei is a memorably fantastic character and brilliantly portrayed by Lena Headey. The shitty writing surrounding season 7 did much to boost her intellectual stock from previous seasons. But she's more ruthless than she is competent or wise.

This reminds that we never finished our Tywin discussion.

Cersei is obviously intelligent, but she does seem to be outclassed by some other characters as far as intelligence and cunning are concerned (Tyrion, probably Tywin, as well). I’ve seen mistakes on her part that I don’t think we would see from a more precise, calculating, and cerebral individual like Claire Underwood, though. I’d agree with Tempest in that it’s her ruthlessness that’s her more dangerous and prominent trait.

Tywin is a much greater strategist than any of his children. At least in the show.

Except for when it comes to his children, apparently.

To be fair, they're like herding cats.

To be fair, it is entirely his own fault that they turned out the way he did. Particularly in regards to Tyrion.

To be honest I don't know if I can in good conscience rep Littlefinger anymore, not after said awful writing in season seven.

I don’t blame you. Season 7 was shit all the way around, but the writers broke it off in Baelish particularly for him to be so utterly outwitted.

He was definitely the single biggest contributor to their deep seated issues. But he successfully cowed them for 40 some years, which is a hell of a thing.

Tywin is still the most competent ruler and player the show has seen by a mile. What a boss.

He's not half as competent as Daenerys nigga, come on. She's the savviest player by far.

I know Nemebro is joking and I hope you are too, my son.

Best player is Varys

Smartest is Varys, Littlefinger or Tyrion

Varys must at the very least be commended for his longevity in the game while starting out one of the most disadvantaged (and unlike Littlefinger his disadvantages are pretty much unassailable in Westeros).

Having stopped watching the show around when Dorne was a thing (a terrible thing) it irritates me to see a discussion of how smart Cersei is when one of the most entertaining aspects of her in the book is how dumb and crazy she is while simultaneously thinking she's a genius. 'Here's a great idea, lets build a really expensive, really powerful fleet and give it to a known pirate who fought for Stannis because I think he's hot and I'm drunk as shit. I am the great, daddy was so wrong about me!'

Another thing from the book is realising that Tyrion is actually an easily manipulated dumbass and he only seems like a genius because its his perspective and he's pretty charming.

No-one has anything on Wyman Manderly.

Frey pies are great, but Ramsay is easily the best player. in the north I doubt anyone else could hurt Roose plans so badly.

don't worry, she's just as dumb and crazy in the show. 90% of circe's plans have either failed outright or backfire terrifically. The only reason she's still standing is because she was lucky enough to have everyone that she loves around her pay for her shenanigans in her place.

Can someone lay out why Season 7 is awful without giving away spoilers? Like, just be vague in your explainations, lol.

I just finished Season 4, by the way. The quality of the show seems to be relatively consistent so far.

Because it's shit.
