MC before you go on a tangent regarding the death penalty, download the last lecture I put up here. It might change your views or give you something to think about. Of course we can change the entire face of this thread and start debating specific subjects, one by one, instead of debating the broader scope of certain ideologies. We can start with the death penalty.
The current intention is not to 'debate' them, but rather post all of our positions in a detailed manner so we can upgrade the general level of our debates.
By the way, what'd you think about the entirety of my post? Do you finally understand the morality behind moral relativism, consequentialism, and why we cannot objectively dub someone 'evil', or do you still disagree?

We were discussing the effects of the death penalty on society (and whether they were beneficial or not).
The 'not getting it' part came much later where I was making very sure that your definition of murder relied solely on the perpetrator's intent before pointing out the obvious hypocrisy of that position. I just waited too long because I thought I was dealing with someone with an (at least) average level of intelligence. (See? I'm terrible at even the most light hearted insults.)

Hate to be the self-righteous wannabe moderator, but seriously, stop it, guys. None of us were perfect on that morality debate- we've all had our share of mistakes and most of us attempted to research more into the concept of morality. Nemesis came back armed with more knowledge regarding philosophy, more specifically utilitarianism (a philosophy he adopted), and then wrote his political positions in a better way. Similarly, Sexy, you have apparently changed some of your political positions regarding morality after your argument with Janus.
It's completely pointless to talk about who was right back then, being that the point is how we are now.
I'm not ashamed to admit that I didn't follow that. I was right when we were talking about how the DP affects society. I ID'd myself as 'out of my depth' in regards to the philosophical debate and then said what makes sense to me. That I have my own opinion (well thought out, I assure you) does not qualify me to comment on others'.
So insulting me for (trying) to refrain from a debate that I was unable to contribute constructively (read: intelligently) to somehow disproves my army of university studies and government data? lolwut?
