Having good medicine doesn't mean you have a good medical system. In fact, you probably just destroyed your own point, foreigners go to America for the advances in the field, not for the 'haxxed system'.
Explain how that "destroys" my point exactly? All it does is add to my point. If you're going to be ignorant, then stay out of this discussion.
Well you said that you thought America had the best medical system, citing that foreigners come to America as a reason why. But if they only come becuase medically its more advanced then their countries, it isn't a plus for the system itself, but for the medical advances which are separate from the system itself. Seems fairly obvious to me.
I've known a number of people who have required extensive surgery or procedures like chemo. None of them went to the U.S., and they all live near the border. But I know that some of them had family doctors. The ones that don't need to book their operations well in advance sometimes (sometimes, I'm not saying we're administratively crippled). Unfortunately we have a low ratio of doctors to citizens, at least here in Ontario, and there's a decreasing number of family doctors. That can be blamed on certain social failings and can definitely be attributed to the massive cost and time requirements. Hell, a Bachelor up here costs upwards of $20,000 without covering books and residence, never mind going for a medical PhD.
In the end though, if there's anything taxpayers' dollars should be going towards, it's ensuring citizens are alive and healthy, instead of bullshit like the Welfare state.

You misunderstand. We DO have the best medical system in the world in terms of medical advances, technology, and doctors. This doesn't imply the best healthcare system..
Still waiting on Nai's response.

Like I've stated numerous times. I am NOT opposed to universal healtchare, as long as it is run in conjunction with private healthcare. What I am opposed to is Obama's method and timing for this universal healthcare, as it is both unattainable and unrealistic.
Now if we had rea wealth(trade surplus), then we could use those revenues to fund various government programs, most importantly government run healthcare. However, Obama is going to cause massive inflation, devaluing of the dollar, loss of consumer confidence, and loss of foreign investor confidence when he starts printing money to fund this system.

Lol. I don't doubt it. Obama and Bernanke are trying desperately to devalue the dollar. It might get to the point where China and the other powers vote to use a new reserve currency at the G-8 Summit, and then we're ******.
