Oh. Fern Gully. It was definitely Fern Gully.

EDIT: Frenchmen...

I think I've seen it like 7 times and it just gets better everytime for me. James Cameron is the greatest filmmaker ever. No, I don't have to prove that assertion.

If by "James Cameron" you're referring to "Christopher Nolan" then you're quite correct, and absolutely do not have to prove that assertion.

Dark Knight was good... but Avatar, man! It's just so---yeah! And it's full of... haha! And makes pretty women... kickass!

But seriously, the plot could have used some work. The acting was great, Worthington pulled off the G.I., no-fear, curious, do-the-right-thing protagonist. Ribisi was awesome, as usual. And Stephen Lang was a perfect villain. The visual were outstanding, no contest. But the overall plot, and story structure... Iunno. Not that it was bad. I liked the general execution of it. But something about the story. I don't wanna toss out words like cliched or hackneyed, but it was definitely a concept that screamed "criticism of the Bush admin. and humanity's disdain for nature." Bugged me.

Oh and the 3D. Maybe it was just my theater, but the 3D bugged me too.

Caim from Drakengard is the best JRPG hero ever, because I've never seen any other one show up out of nowhere looking like a total lunatic badass (with emphasis on lunatic, man, that grin) and murder the shit out of a crowd of people for the sole purpose of ruining one little girl's day. If that isn't the best, I don't know what is.

how about the one soldier who yelled "GET SOME!" Every stinking last time he pulled the trigger? I was cracking up by the last time, and that was the middle of the climatic fight scene.

That horse thing that ran around on fire. Hysterical.

Normally I'd agree, but the movie was so damn good that whatever agenda Cameron had (if he even had one), failed completely. Not to mention I don't think it's a criticism of the Bush Administration, seeing as how he wrote the script over 12 years ago.

No blood for unobtanium oil, we got our own battles to fight on Earth our own soil.

someone needs a vacation to somewhere pretty. maybe new zealand or Hawaii.

that is SOOOO stupid. i couldn't wait to get out of the theatre, and people are actually depressed over that crap. I guess goes to show you the artistic biases we all carry.

Decide to post on every thread with a new post did we TJ?

oh hey, i hate to spoil FOTJ, but the plot just became crystal clear:

Spoiler:
Capgras Delusion
Look it up. Tell me that isn't the answer. They are going to put those jedi on some meds, blow up abeloth and the series is going to come to an amicable end.

Certainly sounds feasible.

If this is not an absolute case of a representative NOT CARING what the people who are actually being represented want, i have never heard of one. Basically, they are telling the people of Mass: If you don't want this bill, tough, we are going to keep YOU...R REPRESENTATIVE from voting on it.

I don't really have a dog in this health bill fight, i don't want it required, but that is about it, BUT this move is shaking the very foundations of our government. The representatives of the people are supposed to vote the way that the people they represent WANT THEM TOO. Blocking whoever wins this election from voting is blocking half the state of Massachusetts from being represented when they vote on a bill that affects them. Its wrong. Its taxation without representation. where have we heard that before? If you are an American, this should anger you no matter WHAT side of the debate you are on. Next time it could be you whose voice is being ignored.

And behold... bureaucracy rears its ugly head.

To be fair, senators don't seem to represent the American people. In fact I dare say Congress as a whole doesn't really represent much. Considering how easy it is to sway the ignorant masses with rhetoric (regardless of political orientation), sometimes I can't help but wonder if we haven't earned this bloated system.

Well considering the people VOTED them in, I can pretty much say that they have earned them.

Yes, but its very frustrating to think that an ignorant and stupid person (the majority of humans on the planet) has the same weight that I do. His vote counts just as much as mine.

I can go and spend days-weeks even-researching an issue. I do this to make sure that when I vote, I am making an informed decision. However, my hard work is really rather pointless, because the idiot next door that just votes because he heard something about candidate X on the news, his vote counts as much as mine.

All men created equal my ass.
