The Battle Bar, Our Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy

By the way: China is starting to seriously piss me off.

I would love to hear the words: " China, SUCK IT." come out of Obama's mouth in regard to us selling weapons to Taiwaan.

You can say we need them, because they hold our debts, but in reality, everything they do to hurt U.S.-chinese relations actually hurts THEM, as much as us, because if they get too beligerent, or attack an ally (like, say taiwaan), we can simply say: We aren't paying you back. They would be forced to start WWIII to do anything about it.

China is an emerging power, its not ready for that (and neither are we, but they aren't going to call that bluff,) can you imagine how much stronger our economy would be, immediately, without all the interest we pay to china?

Not exactly. If we don't pay them back, they are hurt short term. In the long term, they're going to have economic prosperity because they've rid themselves of dollar denominated bullshit. So they're really doing us a favor even now, by continuing to keep our debts.

China is THE emerging power. It's economy is I believe, already overtaking Japan's as the second in the world. With their huge budget surplus and heavy stimulus right now that may or may not create a bubble, they're slowly creating a middle class. Provided that what they have does NOT become a bubble with the heavy stimulus, they are going to be the world leaders, if they aren't already.

Problem is though, for the Chinese, their tie-in to the U.S. dollar through the debt is what is sparking their economic growth. Take away that connection, and what you have is a terribly deflated Yuan that crushes their economy.

this here:

Even if somehow China managed to get us to pay it ALL back at once, it would devastate their economy. Because they are using that debt through the IMF to fund their growth. It doesn't make sense to most people, but that is how it works, and that is what would happen. It is all about working though the IMF to buy and sell, or balance currencies. If China no longer "owned" any of our debt, they would not have any U.S. dollars to trade for yuan. And if that happened the yuan would deflate immediately to absolutely devastating levels, with no way for China to stop it. The fact is that China actually needs our debt to maintain their economy. It is true that they could do just fine if they had less of it. But they MUST keep some of it.

This is a point of contention, because China has their 2 trillion dollar surplus right now, and they still the world's leading exporter, or rather #2, thanks to Germany. However, in the long term they can only succeed because they're not tied down to our currency in any way. It's the mainstream thinking that they'd be destroyed if we didn't pay them back, and this is what most Americans are banking on. Unfortunately this is far from true.

North korea will nuke your black ass blackie.

No it surpassed that. Gone with the wind made more than Titanic including inflation.

****ing Manning..

I did not expect this at all. Few things to look at:

3. Peyton Manning became the old Manning we always questioned, botching the big games during the first 6 years of his career. I thought those days were over, but he showed it again. He's the new Brett Favre.
2. The Colts were thoroughly outcoached. I give Sean Payton credit because he has balls bigger than Bellichick. Those calls he made could have destroyed his team but he owned Jim Caldwell, who didn't show much.

1. And the biggest reason why the Saints won was, the Colts' pass defense. It was absolutely atrocious. Both offenses played well but the Colts pass defense blew in every sense of the word. They are mostly responsible for this loss.

Think about it this way. The Vikings completely owned the Saints in virtually every category and needed 4 fumbles and an interception to lose. Brett Favre had 470 yards to Manning's under 300. It REALLY makes you question if Manning is even better than Favre at this point, because this was supposed to be Manning's coronation as the greatest ever. Now I'm wondering how badly the Vikings might have beaten the Colts had they made it to the Super Bowl. I bet because of this game, Favre will come back.

I disagree with all of this. You live by Manning, you die by Manning. You can't even be mad at him. Without him, where would we be.
Yardage comparisons are pointless, this was a completely different game than the viking-saints game. Besides, peyton threw 377 against the number one defense in the NFL, so really, what's your point?

Hurts though. Like a kick in the stomach.

That's why he's #3 dude, as in not the top 2 reasons they lost. I'm not completely pissed with him, but I didn't expect him to be the old Manning anymore because of how he's played this season. The problem is Jim Caldwell, who isn't much of a coach, and their pass defense which is pure shit.

And my point is Favre threw for 470 yards against the Saints, as in he performed better and his team murdered them in the stats. Now either the Vikings are better than the Colts or the Colts had a shit game.

I think this game gives Favre confidence because he outplayed Manning by far, against the Saints. And I still think Manning will win a 2nd and 3rd ring and be the greatest qb ever but therein lies the problem. This was supposed to be his coronation, and we are once again doubting his legacy because he ****ed up the big one.
