Yea, that's the beauty of Eminence when it comes to politics, or the outside world in general. He knows as much as HWKN so it's definitely humorous when he posts.

Meanwhile.

So you insult Eminence and me on POLITICS because of a typing error? Well, maybe you were using my knowledge on Star Wars/debating, in which one grammar error is not justification - heck, in most cases you shouldn't insult someone just because you disagree with them.

Stop quoting one of the only two people on Ignore.

No, i'm comparing Eminence's grasp of politics/real world to your grasp of star wars logic.

Yes.

And given that he's probably bawling about the fact that some of us don't have Israel's cock lodged in our throat, I feel compelled to clarify; I was referring to the position Israel's action has put it in, not the raid itself. The political backlash and public outrage aren't doing anything for the country's image.

As to the encounter, with the exception of one video - courtesy by the IDF - any detailed report of precisely what happened eludes me (which seems to be the case most everywhere at the moment). While I wouldn't be especially surprised to discover Israel's done something brash and politically compromising, given the information I have I can't completely decry the use of force.

That said, why nine people died is beyond me.

The article of the day on Wookiee will bust Matt's nuts.

There was some footage of the attack taken by the activists themselves on today's NBC national news. It showed the civilians getting pounded on with bullets. Then there was another video from the IDF that showed the Commandos literally getting pounded on, this time with iron rods. (I believe some soldiers were killed too?)

i know they threw one from the top deck of the ship to the lower deck. Seriously injured at least, or so it would appear to the other soldiers at the time. As a soldier, you are simply following orders, and you don't want to die there, so OF COURSE you open fire. Stupid stupid move by the "unarmed" turkish people to fight back in a battle they couldn't win.

That being said, in response to your story red, how about the EVERY DAY firing of rockets into israeli territory? Just because they don't all kill people doesn't mean they weren't trying. Should you condemn Israel for responding in kind, just because they are BETTER at it?

My Nuts...They have been busted.

Spoiler:
*Insert lolcat picture of nuts being busted here.*

Hmmm.. Thought: Pg. 299 of TPM says that QGJ was the best swordsman that Kenobi had ever seen. Does this not at the very least equal the similar comment made from the point of view of Anoon Bondara's Padawan?

Kenobi being how old at this point, with how much combat experience, with how much merit to his word?

Should you condemn Israel for responding in kind, just because they are BETTER at it?

Your little brother throws some rocks at you. He hasn't got much of an arm but, yeah, it hurts. Do you, the high school's starting pitcher, respond by launching rocks of your own at sixty miles an hour?

I hope to hell not!

no. It does not. It says "that Kenobi had ever seen" not "in the history of the Order."

One is a comparative statement based on a padawan's limited experience, while the other is an absolute statement, which may or may not be based on a padawan's limited experience. I'd have to see the exact quote to be more definite than that.

except say, if ANY of those rocks hit you, people die. just because he throws slower, do you stand there and dodge the rocks that could kill you, or do you go over there, punch him in the mouth, and put him in an isolated time out?

But we aren't looking at a single rock. You said "Should you condemn Israel for responding in kind, just because they are BETTER at it?" This indicates that we should not condemn Israel for being better at rock throwing in general. There is a clear difference between the Palestinian rock throwing (that causes some damage) and Israeli rock throwing (that causes systemic and existential damage). Kudos for attacking my analogy, but it carries us through your equivalency.

I'm not defending any rock throwing; there certainly is a point where the analogy breaks down. That point is where the "damage" stops being bruises and starts being families and lives. I think this is a case where we find that we can't stop people from killing by killing people.

It's already families and lives.
