I've heard terrible things about the Airbender movie.

Thoughts?

What did you expect. Shyamalan hasn't had a good movie since Unbreakable.

Unbreakable sucked.

Unbreakable was awesome.

My earlier point is still valid.

Unbreakable was pure garbage.

Here.

Although I don't know why you'd need a German. It's pretty awesome what the team did yesterday. Especially if you consider how that people played during the regular football season over here.

Klose was almost never allowed to play at Bayern München and had a pretty f*cked up season - now he's scoring in every game.

The club of Arne Friedrich was relegated into the second league - he's playing perfect.

Podolski also had a completely f***ed up season, now he's scoring, assisting and doing a nice defensive job as well.

I think Joachim Löw has done an awesome job in teaching them teamwork and tactics and that just works because we don't have anybody in the team that doesn't think of the team first before following "egoistical" goals. Pretty much all of the "great" players did totally suck at the world cup (Messi anybody? LOL! Ronaldo?) because they aren't teamplayers exactly...

I have to be honest: I thought the team will have a hard time in even getting to the quarter-finals. But after watching their performance against England and Argentinia, I'm rather sure they can win the World Cup.

Well, the world is pulling for them. A young inexperienced team playing with amazing unselfishness. They need to go through Spain and Holland first, which is no easy feat.

Spain certainly looked less impressive in their last game and were pretty lucky to win. Germany already offed England and Argentinia, scoring 4 goals in each game. That is pretty impressive.

Of course: Spain and Holland aren't easy opponents but I think that Holland would have a better chance to win against Germany, because they have a more experienced team (in comparison to Spain and Germany), and they have a lot of players that know the German "stars" (especially Robben).

Yet if Germany keeps playing like that, I don't think that anybody can stop them. Next game is going to be tricky however, with Müller not being able to play...

It's very impressive because Germany has played more as a team than anyone else. Spain looked less impressive but you have to give your hats off to the Paraguay defense who played their ass off. Their goal that was rescinded wasn't offsides at all so that was gay. I can't believe both teams missed a penalty though. I still think Spain would be the favorite against Germany but I'm pulling for the GErmans to win the cup.

I still can't understand why nobody can figure Robben out. HE ONLY SHOOTS WITH HIS LEFT FOOT, THAT IS ALL. I don't like Holland because there's some arrogance about them, especially now that they've beaten Brazil. Spain is also pretty arrogant.

Yea, bullshit handball call.

I don't get why people favor certain teams. The single players? I've almost never seen an individual winning a football match. Individual class? Well. Half of the German team has played in the Champions League final with Bayern München. Those are some of the best players in the world, they aren't just as hyped as certain other figures in the world of football. Messi? Ronaldo? They do have their moments, but they aren't playing as if they came from another planet constantly either.

I don't think that people have trouble to figure Robben out. Robben is just extremely fast and an extremely smart player and technically skilled. This enables him to do the "same old trick" again and again. And if people are really able to prevent this, he can also give killer assists to his teammembers. I've seen that often enough during the Bundesliga season.

Yea, bullshit handball call.

Another referee call from hell.

Well yea, for instance I love Messi so I like Argentina. I've always been a Brazil fan so I like Brazil. I'm diehard English Premier League so I like England. But without Michael Ballack, the Germans don't play arrogantly, nor do they bullshit. They don't flop, they don't *****, they just play unselfish soccer and how can you not cheer for that? Individually, they're not as good as the BRazilians or the Spaniards, or some other teams. Collectively, they own.

I remember his goal against Manchester United, that crap killed me. What a lucky volley. But he has a phenomenal left foot.

Another referee call from hell.

I hope it doesn't come back to haunt the Germans. I can see Mueller going to a more prestigious club after this World Cup because he definitely put his name on the map./

I don't know. Schweinsteinger has a lot of votes for him being the best player in the entire World Cup. Germany has a lot of technically skilled players. Bayern München didn't get to the Champions League final because of Robben alone.

Well. I think that he can be stopped. It's just hard to take him out of the game completely, even if one could manage to keep him from doing his "one trick".

More prestigious than a Champions League finalist? I don't think that Müller will do that. We've all seen what happened to Ballack when he left the country. He was a "hero" over here, but when he left to Chelsea, he was sitting on the bank more than he was playing. The same essentially happened to Podolski, when he joined Bayern München. In Cologne, he was the undisputed #1. In Munich, they pretty much made him a substitute for the likes of Luca Toni and Klose.

Schweinsteiger has been great but I think Ouzil and Mueller have been more influential. Mueller already has 4 goals. I wouldn't be surprised if Schweinsteiger wins MVP if Germany wins the WC though.

Brazil pretty much shut him down. Put someone faster on him and make him go right.

Well, I meant like an EPL club. And if not more prestigious, I see him getting a new contract with a lot more money. He certainly deserves it.

I don't think so. Özil had his weak moments - he didn't do much in the game VS Argentinia for example. Schweinsteiger does a perfect job on his position, defensive and offensive alike. Müller would be another candidate for the MVP title, yet many of his actions wouldn't have happened without Schweinsteiger.

There aren't too many people that fit into the "faster than Robben" category.

A new contract would be a possible solution. I also think that he deserves that. I still don't see him playing outside of Germany. Since the 1990s almost every German player that went into a foreign league was doing worse (or threated worse) there, than in the Bundesliga. Hence most of the "good" German players try to get a contract in one of the German top clubs with rarely one leaving to another country (Ballack was the last to do so, imho).

I don't recall Schweinsteiger doing a great deal against England while Muller and Ozil were instrumental. In the game against Argentina, Muller had a goal and either 1 or 2 assists. Ouzil is also a beast when it comes to speed. Schweinsteiger has been amazing but I don't think he's been the best player on the team.

I would call him "deceptively fast." He looks like a bald 40 year old but he's ridiculous with the ball. However, I've seen him easily be shut down when they take away his left foot. Most teams just don't "get it" though.

They must be teaching something positive in the Bundesliga because for all of the prestige of the EPL, the English as a collective team lack discipline and skill.

Özil and Müller just appear to be more important because their work is more obvious than what Schweinsteiger does. Schweinsteiger is doing a great job in the defense and orchestrates most of the offensive play. Almost everytime Özil and Müller get the ball, Schweinsteiger is the one giving it to them. He does play very un-egoistic though, hence his work is not resulting in assists / goals that often.

They do get it but they are attempting to prevent his "usual trick" them in most cases, in which case Robben does focus on assists. He can play pretty nice passes / give good assists too, when somebody prevents him from scoring.

Well. The EPL - as most leagues - focus a lot on individual strength of a player. People like Ronaldo and even Rooney play a lot "for the Gallery". They all have "their" special moves, that aren't always effective but look good. Most German players, even when being technically able to play like this (Özil is imho), just play in a way that best suits there team or that is effective.

What a sick goal.

Yet another beautiful strike from Forlan. He has to be the MVP of the tournament thus far.
