TJ, the question was sparked by FOX news. Bill was interviewing someone from the NAACP and their definitions of the words were fundamentally different. I'm interested in where that split comes from.In that context, would you like to edit your response?
I watched that EXACT same interview... it was some black university professor, right?
Hope this helps:
Webster's definitions of Racist and Bigot:
Racist: a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
2 : racial prejudice or discrimination
Bigot: a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance. Etymology is French, and meant HYPOCRITE.
I'm not a linguist, but I interpret the above as:
Racist is a belief or ideology
Bigot is the outward behavior displayed, or the action
So a racist is by definition a bigot, but a bigot is not necessarily racist? Who knows. Can you hate someone just because they are different, and not because of a belief of inequality? People do hate change, or experiences that challenge their status quo.

Way to go Lucien! How much are you making per commercial?
Well, I was just thinking about it the other day: why does TPM exist? The story largely does not focus on Anakin; I'd argue that Qui-Gon and Padme are just as integral to the story as he is. And, at the end of the day, I just can't help but shake the idea that the whole thing was a ~3 hour setup to show how Palpatine became elected Chancellor.
Essentially, yeah. It was an introduction to our heroes and explaining how Mr. Sith got to be so important. I can't think of any other "point" to the story. Planetary blockade/crisis that is never mentioned again. Nostalgic trip to retro-Tatooine that leads in to a 30-minute (useless/boring) race and an overly complicated wager surrounding it. Cut to the city-planet that CGIers can fap to and Star Wars fans can blueball at the mention of bacterial Forceichlorians. Cut back to ultimately irrelevant blockaded planet where the non-Braveheart battle ensues, lightsabers flash, Irishmen die, and children fly spaceships.
That leaves the only important of the movie left: Palpatine gets elected.
Anakin joins the Jedi - arguably the biggest turning point in SW
Palpatine (secretly Darth Sidious) becomes Supreme Chancellor - set up to him becoming Emperor
Characters such as Obi Wan and Padme are introduced - both would become very important characters
Anakin is given a backstory - would be part of the story for AOTC and ROTS as well
