Although the one mistake was multi-culturalism. You can't assimilate a new eave of immigrants without a dominant and overriding culture to assimiliate into. That and allowing unlimited immigration from Mexico while not doing the same for Europe and not securing the borders.

As far as the Blacks are concerned, the only problem there is one that is squarely the fault of LBJ's Great Society programs that caused a culture of unemployment and struck the first blow against the Black Poor Nuclear Family(At least both parents). This combined with the glorification of ****** culture such as Rap music and the like, not speaking correct english, deriding education as too white, Crack Cocaine and the destruction of jobs, combined to create the utterly sad and avoidable catastrophuck that is Black America today.
If the sense of entitlement never happens and Crack Cocaine is avoided along with continuing the trend of Poor Blacks actually aspiring to be better, and you could avoid the mess almost entirely. Also, if you could keep Black musicians in Rock and prevent the shitastic(But occasionally good) rap from ever happeneing ever, Young black men and women won't have to train themselves to speak with an understandable accent.
