Being right? In case the individual in question hasn't noticed: he conceeded to me regarding the two quotes once used as "absolute proof" for Sidious being the most powerful - in his own pro-Sidious essay. He adopted my reasoning and logic to do so.
If, and as it seems, you are trying to claim ownership over the original refutation of the argument Gideon referenced in his essay regarding the following passage:
“The Emperor had known it would be thus, of course [that the Rebel Alliance would be troublesome]; the resistance had not been a surprise to him. The Emperor was completely in concert with the dark side of the Force. He was the most powerful Sith who had ever existed.” (Death Star, page 76)
I will kindly ask you to try and be a little more honest. The counter argument had been made by an entirely different individual a long time before you decided to start repeating it.

Any refutation of the arguments present follows a pattern of reasoning introduced to this very forum by "my friends" (as they are called here) and myself. Other people are also smart enough to use it? That's brilliant. Which doesn't mean that I copied them. As a matter of fact, I can't even remember to have dealt with that quote in question in a debate. I was mainly refering to the quote from the NEC, which was paraded around as "absolute proof" here for months.
And its quite obvious that Gideon, despite typing that refutation down, has still not understood it. Otherwise he wouldn't have attempted to use a similar quote from a different source as "absolute proof" after doing so. After correcting the same mistake twice (or rather than that: adopting the corrections of his mistake by other people), one should have expected that he wouldn't commit it once again. Which he did.
Now one could ask if Gideon was incapable of understanding what he typed down himself, or flat out acted against his own knowledge, just to convince people of his opinion. Was Gideon an idiot or a liar? In all honesty: I think he was merely lured in by the delusion of having a point that couldn't be attacked, just to score agains the older, more educated and intellectual superior members of this board. Either that, or he was a fundamentalist. Who cares?

This would have changed my life if I had read it 5 years ago. A pity. Now its too late, and I was just shaking my head agreeing with everything.
Yay HP fanfic!
There are some good stories, if you can ignore the homogenous plots and horrific writing quality of most of them! (That is, if you can ignore the horrific writing quality long enough to find a good story, you will find a good story.)
Also, sometimes the writing quality improves over time! That's a good thing, too.
