Seriously? They came off as books written with teenage readers in mind. It's been almost two years since I read them but I distinctly recall Kaan's demanding of "more Dark Lords" to beat the Jedi as reading like a piece of video-game literature, as if Sith students evolving being promoted to Lord status instantly earned them new powers and higher stats. Appropriate, I guess, coming from one of KotOR's writers.
There were plenty of silly moments and descriptive in the characters and story, that one being the one that's stuck with me. But really it always felt like a piece of amateur Star Wars fanon rather than an engaging story.

😬
No, what he meant was to bring in the students of the Korriban academy, who were chosen to attend that particular academy because of their high potential. The students of the Korriban academy would all be promoted to Dark Lords status upon graduation because of the fact that they were the most powerful they had. So what he meant was 'we need more actually strong guys.'

I enjoyed the first book because of how the ancients were described.
Sure. But they seemed to be mere shadows compared to Revan... 😛
Anyways the novels had a distinct video game feel. You could see Bane "leveling up" and aquiring new powers. Also each character had their own class and skills. For example that battlemaster in RoT. Her saber skills were unmatched but her force powers were incredibly weak. Still I found the first and third novel to be entertaining.
Anyway, Drew would be my thrid choice for the author after Luceno and Stover. He may no be the greatest writer but he will be sure to indulge the fanboy inside me.
