nonsense.

People who say that are having delusions of granduer about the other two movies being so "great".

I liked 'em both mind you, but the fights in X1 were shit.

"Do you know what happens to a toad when it gets struck by lightning?"

It flies up out of an elevator on a shitty wire, after watching a fake-looking wolverine swing around the statue of Liberty's crown.

Or part 2, which gave us a great opening fight with Nightcrawler, let Logan rip a few guards at the house, and ended with an OK fight with Uriko.

While they showed some great moments of the mutants using their powers in small ways, and had great characterization and dialouge, they were just set up for this movie:

The huge batttle of many mutants with many powers, with Phoenix doing the whole "hero taps into power to become unstoppable evil" thing WAY better than that punk Anakin did.

Wolverine had his best fight scenes in this film, Mags owned, I understood more about his and Charles relationship, and oh yeah, PYRO v.s. ICEMAN.

I've heard this movie called the Return of the Jedi of the series, with the same actors finishing a story doing cool fights, that doesn't measure up to the others.

BOLLOCKS!

I can't watch much of X1 anymore, and X2 takes FOREVER to get from the good beginning to the good end. (though I did catch them both before going to see X3.)

This film is more like the Revenge of the Sith of the series, taking the set-up and characterization of the first 2, and bringing it to a close, with a huge battle.

Definitely has more replay-value than 1 or 2.

I'm glad the gay guy directed the first 2 to set up the people and define the relationships, so that the straight guy could give us the huge action flick with mutants going nuts on each other that we all wanted to see, capping off a great trilogy.

Hopefully his Superman that is without a chick or a world that wants him doesn't come out too emo.

(God knows the soundtrack sure is.)

😎 finally someone who makes sense!

Don't mock that line, InnerRise thought it was an inspired line delivered with the eloquence of a Shakespearian actor.

I must confess, I was surprised that there wasn't a Colossus Vs Juggernaut fight. That really doesn't make any sense to me at all. And I thought there was supposed to be a Storm Vs Phoenix fight as well.

Yeah Britrogue, that's one of the few things I found lacking from the film was a Colossus vs. Juggernaut fight. How awesome it would've been to have seen the two rounding opposite corners, spotting each other, then just running towards each other until they ram into one other with as much force possible. Can you imagine the force of something like that?

Well, I finally saw the movie like yesterday and I thought it was pretty cool for what I was expecting. Just another fun summer flick with cool special effects and mutant's with special powers fighting each other. It was definitely visually entertaining and action packed. However no real story or plot line, no character development, seems like everything was rushed and hacked together. Different true pieces were taken from the comics here and there but then altered to fit in to this short movie version. I don't know why they couldn't have made it a bit longer, seemed rushed to me. No real explanations for anything and lack of character development. Hell half of these mutants I didn't even recognize.

Anyway, all that being said I still like it. It was a fun flick. I can understand how the purists would be upset about it but since when has this series of x-men movies been true to the comics. I actually like seeing this mutant free for all more than that dumb storyline of X2 where they all join forces against Stryker and the govt. boring.... 😖leep:
They could've also added in the Sentinels and a better visual depiction of Phoenix as in the comics as well as made Juggernaut better than some dude wearing a cheap suit but I guess these must have been all budgetary decisions. In the end with all the money this movie made and all the expectations goin in, I think we deserved a better overall product but what can I say I'm a sucker for seeing mutants fighting each other.

Oh yeah, a couple more things to mention. I thought Ian McKellen turned in another terrific performance as Magento. When he was first casted for this series of movies I shared the same sentiment some others did at the time about him being a bit too old for the part but boy has he proven me as well as others wrong, now I just can't see anyone else playing this role. 'When the night has fallen and the air is still who will you stand with?' Which brings me to point out possibly the biggest continuity goof in this movie and one which was very obvious....

Spoiler:
In the scene where Magneto re-positions the Golden gate bridge towards Alcatraz it's broad daylight and then all of a sudden the next minute before the final battle scene takes place it's nighttime.
😆 huh?

Note: I tried to edit my previous post but I guess I exceeded the 'time limit, get it, just like the moviefone thing, 'I'm sorry but you have exceeded the time limit'. 'If you know the name of the movie u wish to see press 1...blah...blah....blah...enter now.'

Oh, my bad. I'll have to check that out next time I see it. Maybe there's like a deleted scene or something. A really long deleted scene😄

Yeah Kitty and Beast were two good additions to the movie.

I don't know, Beast still looked like a guy with caked on blue makeup. When Storm caressed his hair and cheek when they met up, I couldn't help but look to see if the makeup got on her hand. All in all, Beast was cool, but I think it would have been better if his make up was more pasty, like the old HULK TV show. Rub that makeup into his skin more. Be the makeup. Become the makeup.

yeah the physical appearance sucked but the character of beast showed through i think

i though that beasts appearence was really good.

I know we are supposed to be pointing out the positives, but I can't help but think of the negatives. Sorry guys, but the part where Mystique was left naked in the cargo hold, I thought that was lame. Don't get me wrong, I dug seeing her naked and all, but damn, Magneto could have at least thrown her a towel or something. The separation was too abrupt for two characters with such a deep past. I hope there's a deleted scene on the dvd that will show her transition from naked woman in the middle of nowhere, to sitting in an office in business clothes. Not that it's needed.

yeah but that sums magneto up as a person. He hates humans and now mystique is one also, no need to help her. Pluss no clothes = 🙂

i agree it was to show how cold he really is i mean look at the lack of emotion when charles died. ok he narked pyro for sayin he would kill him and mags said he was a great man yadyy yada. and the whole you're not one of us anymore

I have read X-Men comics for seventeen years, so I'm a die hard fan. And I'm 35, so I'm not an excitable teenager, either who goes for noise and explosiones.
And I liked X3. A lot.
Lét'2 see.
1. Not enough space for Cyclops? Like he had so much development in the previous movies. The actor wasn't good for the part, he lacked the strengh and "presence" for it. Cyclops was underused since X1, and much more in X2. I love the character, but I deal.
2. The portrait of Phoenix was awesome. Plain scary, and touching in the right moments.
3. Xavier and Magneto portrayed like the faces of the same coin. Xavier has a dark side, too, and he isn't so different from his old nemesis.
4. Beast was great. And when he said "My stars and Gaters" I really jumped in my seat.
5. Wolverine was, again, awesome. And forgive me for being a woman, but he can put flames in the screen. Uff.
6. The fight scenes were great.
7. I think that X3 is more acurate to the comics that the other two. An adaptation can't be literal, but this respect the spirit of a great comic.
I don't think the movie would have been better if Mr. Singer had directed it. Let's face it, he isn't that good with action scenes, and these are X-Men movies, i.e. action packed movies. And he wasn't that great with the character developemen either.
I think don't that the movie it's perfect (and what is), but it's a very good one.
(Please, forgive my grammar and spelling mistakes, but English is not my mother language)
Thank you.

Actually he did show deep emotion for Charles as he died.

Did you not see his face and hear him when he called out Charles's name?

I really felt for him.............and Charles too of course.

is it comprehensible.....

I like Sithsaber's post on the previous page.

Ha. You got that right.

yeah because charles is a mutant and an old friend,
did anyone else like the Iced form of bobby drake? Im not an ice man fan but that looked quite cool

Spoiler:
There is a small shot, right after the woman closes her car, with the mutants walking to alcatraz that the light in their faces changes from orange to pale blue but its anyway, too fast, and the fact that they get from the Golden Gate scene to the dark alcatraz battle that way, makes the battle a bit SMALL and unconnected with everything else, and when you see the night you feel like this was another thing that hasnt got anything to do with the previous

It splits the movie.
