X-Men: The Last Stand Discussion

I'm also pissed about how the made poor Logan kill Jean! I didn't think he'd actually do it!! In the comics he hesitated and Jean was the one who killed herself!! That made me upset! I mean, she just came back and now she goes and dies and takes two/possibly three people with her! I mean, how crappy is that?
Debate on subject? 😄

The whole Movie felt wrong.

I couldn't agree more! the entire time i was watching i was like "i can't believe they're gonna take her powers away." then i saw the end with magneto and i was like "oh everythings cool. so much better." i relaxed a little.

About the flying, the 1st time i saw the it was the one where bobby and kitty land and he says "never do that again." I saw it from a distance and thought it was rogue, and I almost fell outta my chair cus i was so excited then i saw it again and i and i was like "who the h*ll is that??? that's not rogue!!!" my brothert burst out laughing at me, then he's like "well maybe she'll still fly, just not with bobby." needless to say i was both pissed 😠 and disappointed 🙁 that rogue was still on the same power level as the 1st movie

rogue will not reach a new "power level" unless ms marvel appears in an x-man movie, which in my view is extremely unlikely.

They could always have her absorb some generic character with similar powers.

I thought the movie was good, but they made Wolvie look like a god at the end

It was good but I don't think they should have killed off Phoenx or made Magento normal. They could have done so much more with Phoenix too

I know... I thought they were going to fastball special Leech at her and make her powers cut out or have Storm high-hat her with a bolt of unusually weak lightning. What was up with that anyway?

Jean dies and comes back like regular people go to sleep then wake up so I'm sure they can bring her back whenever they want. And the ending suggests the permanent "cure" only lasts 2 days.

Another thing that really bugged me was Cyclops dying. Now i'm not going to lie and say he's my favorite character, but he's to me an integral part of the Xmen and the Phoenix storyline was supposed to be about he and Jean. I can totally understand why they killed him:they really didnt know what to do with him,but he could've at least died at the end and THEN Wolvie could've stabbed her. I'll admit,i like Wolvie way more than i like Cyke, but he's already been overexposed in the other 2 movies and this could've been more about Cyke and Jean's relationship instead of Wolvie and Jean's relationship.

Really great movie. Better then I expected. Best of the three, in my opinion.

doesn't compare with x2, but thats just my opinion.

yeah i would say so two even with my complaints. The plot was in my opinion the worst but it compensated with sheer visceral quality

took the words right outta my mouth. seriously i was about to post it then i read that. apparently u beat me to it.

Hey... Did STORM create a tidal wave in the movie? How come I didn't see it? was it one of the deleted scenes? That should have been cool.

I thought Leech would be key to her defeat as well ✅

Yeah, I read that somewhere on the board and I've been seeing that on tv in the commercials and it's been bugging me. I'm been trying to remember seeing it in the movie.

I just figured it happened sometime during the big battle and I've just forgotten that I've seen it.

But it seems it's not only me so maybe they did but it.

is it comprehensible.....

Here's a question that came up that I don't have an absolute answer for. I took my momma out as a surprise to see X3, and after the movie she asked me what exactly caused Professor X to become wheel-chair bound. Being a comic book fan I know in the comics it had to do with some guy named Lucifer, but in this case I couldn't really tell her since it wouldn't make much sense considering the world that the movies are set in. So with that in mind, does anyone have an answer for this? Was it in one of the movie novels by any chance? Judging by the opening scene in X3, it had to have happened sometime between 20 years ago to the present.

I didn't write this I found it on an other board..........

"Xavier legs are crushed by a boulder during a fight with an alien known as Lucifer, he was saved by a woman who overheard his telepathic cries for help.

Xavier was later posessed by the evil alien race of the Brood and mutated into a Brood Queen. The X Men restore him using a clone body created using tissue samples. This new body has fully-working legs, but he is so accustomed to using his mind to block the previous constant pain of his paralysis that his mind subconsciously gives him psychosomatic pain whenever he tries to walk, which largely keeps him in his wheelchair. Eventually, he overcomes this difficulty and sometimes even joins the X-Men in the field.

However, a battle with the Shadow King renders Xavier to a wheelchair once more."

Refreshing up.

Well since there is not really a review thread I'll post mine here.

As for character, a ton of them were not handled right at all. Callisto, Psylocke, Rogue, Colossus, Juggernaut, etc. The movie just didn't translate them well from the comics to the screen. I'm glad Gambit wasn't put in this movie, because I know Ratner would've done him completely wrong.

Wolverine got a little less time that I expected but Storm got a little more. IMO she finally fit into the look of her character but she is too much of a nice girl to pull Storm off. Halle was wrong for the part to begin with and I wouldn't have paid her more money to stick around for a third installment and only watch her half-ass her job. But I don't want to turn this into a Halle Berry bashing post...

Some characters were actually done right. Kitty, Phoenix, Mystique, Magneto, and Beast are the ones that stick out in my mind.

The one thing I was Marjory disappointed with was the final battle. It was incredibly anticlimactic, and it could've been a team effort to kill Jean. NOT a Wolverine solo act.

One question keeps bugging me though. Why did they spend so long casting Angel when he had no more then 5 lines to act?

My final verdict for the movie would be a strong 7/10 if I weren't a huge X-fan. Being a huge X-fan I give it a 5/10.
