I think the design I found is a much better design and should be used for the movie right away. Even if he wants Megatron to look different, he should at least make him look reconisable. If that picture didn't say Megatron on it, I would not at all think that was Megs. I took a friggin' double take! He looks like something straight out of Alien. The CYBERTRON look is better!

well the transformers are 'aliens' so i guess thats why they look like that...some more than others.

i dunno how a kid would transform an 'alien' jet to something like that though...

here's my thought of what micheal bay was thinking when he chose the current megatron design:

maybe micheal bay thought that the original design of megatron was too plain, maybe too basic? so he replaced that simple design with something that he thinks, fits the personality of megatron: monsterous, and evil. while keeping very small subtle similarities (if any at all😮nly thing i recognize is the shape of his head)

but that doesnt mean im on michael bay's side; im just trying to figure out why he chose that design from a reasonable perspective.

AND i think those upset with the design can stay upset because its probably the final design since there was that pic of megatron's lower half on set as a prop (bout 20 feet tall lower torso n legs)

Here's the real thought behind Megatron.

Michael: I wanna make Megatron evil and stuff. So instead of that STUPID "act evil and be respected through personality and script", I just thought we would make him look like an Alien and just scare people. People will be so excited to see MY version of everything Transformers! And since I have never heard of Transforms before and have never watched or see anything like it, I have seen Gobots, Godzilla, War of the Worlds, and Alien, so that may be enough!

well atleast there will be good car chases since micheal bay filmed Bad Boys II...how could spielburg just sit back and relax during all of this?

these characters are not a tribute in any way to their name sake. its just some swamp thing with razor teeth called "megatron" etc.

i hate micheal bay. i dislike nearly everyone of his films but i truely thnik that this looks alright. and as long as he justifies why he has done what he has i'm happy. if however he doesn't i'll feel cheated into thinking there was complex thought to his descisions

i honestly have no complaints about prime...i mean i would give criticism to the overcomplexity, but he still looks like prime. those things which they names "megatron", "starscream", and "bumblebee" look not a ****ing thing like the characters.

I'm not picky enough that they have to look just like the cartoon models.
But get closer than that, for goodness sake.
As far as Megatron goes, I'm hoping this is his form on Cybertron, and he gets a somewhat different look when he adapts to an earth form.

While the flames are stupid, I can't say that Optimus Prime looks bad. A little funkiness never hurt. Megatron, though, is just ridiculous.

Prime's design is do-able, I don't mind it.

Megatron's.......uh yeah re-do.

Actually, if they at least gave him the canon on his arm on that design.........at least.......... I would be a lot more okay with it.

Optimus I saw as looking like the remaking look from Supreme or whatever. Simple, yet not a giant box.

Megatron I wanted badly as a tank. His weapon would look similar to the gun version of himself, only now he would have a more computerish head and more complicated look to him. Like the one I put up earlier.

I wouldn't have even put Bumblebee in the movie. Replace him with Hot Rod.

Iron Hide would be a cop car. He would be sleeker, edgier, and be more of a pop up/pop down gun.

Starscream would be lanky, sleek, and evil looking. I would have him look more like a weapon-based villain than flying-based. Everywhere on him would be bladed. More like a hand to hand fighter than long range. He would still be a jet, though.

Jazz would be a convertable that turns into a small, sleek, red fighter that has feminine looks while still deadly.

The Constructicons, sadly, are not in the movie. I wanted them to be, but they're not. If they were, I would keep the original design, pretty much.

Scorpinok looks good to me. Not really a good pick for what the producers are going for, but it's fine for me.

They should have Inferno in it. G1 or not, he is the best Transformers Decepticon lackey ever.

Soundwave should be in it as well, though I would schange him into possibly a casset playing truck(not the Optimus kind of truck, though).

I only watched Transformers occasionally when I was a kid, so I never really became a huge die-hard fan of everything Transformers. But I think because of that, I can offer an unbiased opinion on what I think design-wise so far.

Optimus Prime looks pretty good to me. Of course, they're all going to be more complex than they were in the cartoon, but at the same time they should look like themselves. The Optimus design pulls this off really well. He's not too blocky to fit into the live action world, but you can still tell that it's Optimus with a single glance.

Megatron... um... Well, to put it nicely, he's a good example of taking over-complexity too far. Can you see kids trying to transform the toy? It'd take an hour, and they'd be lucky to still have all their fingers once they'd finished. But look on the bright side. You'll just cheer all the more when Optimus starts beating the crap out of him.

Starscream... is actually alright in my opinion. Once again, he's not too complex. You can actually tell what he's supposed to transform into. Unlike...

Bumblebee. Maybe I just need to see a better picture of him, but I can't see anything resembling parts of a car on him. No hood, no tires, nothing. That's a good sign that it's probably too complex. But the only picture we've seen of his whole body was pretty small, so I could be completely wrong.

I'm looking forward to this movie. Not all the transformers look great, but maybe my opinions will change further down the road. I definitely want to see one of these guys, any of them, actually transform. I'll reserve complete judgment until then.

i think there is a car engine where Bumblebee's mechanical groin is.
