Now we get this Turkey/Monkey thing with virtually no Starscream charicteristics to bare to the eye.

I totally agree dude. I mean if you are gonna undertake such a monumental task as turning TF into a big movie, then stay true to its originality. I hate these directors that feel like they have to put twists and their own ideas into an already great background story. IE Ang Lee with Hulk, a complete damn disgrace, he should either be deported or shot by a firing squad of Hulk fans, Superman Returns, why did Bryan Singer feel the need to make Clark a dad so early in the story? He had so much more to tell but now Supes is playing the damn daddy role.
Why do u think people love Spiderman flix so much, cuz it stayed true to the damn original plot

i can relate this to sam raimi and what they did to the spiderman movies, yes, organics. taking away the cartridges means taking away how spiderman thinks. While Michael Bay so far, has only changed the look of a transformer, he has not yet changed how they act...(personality)

The organics saved time and money. We'd need a whole thing on Pete's brilliance, when with organic webshooters just give you a faster resolution to it all. Besides, they're friggin' webshooters. Let it the hell go.
At least Spiderman, Green Goblin, Doc Ock, and Sandman(from what we've seen) look similair to they're character. Yeah, Green Goblin's suit was like a Power Ranger's. So what? It made him look more technological and realistic. Megatron looks like an outcast from "Jurassic Park" or something.

I agree with that aspect of SPIDERMAN. I didn't like the whole organic webshooter thing too. It was cool when Peter had to figure out how to get money to buy the materials he needed to make webshooting cartridges. I remember one comic in particular when he said to himself "Well so much for dinner with MJ tonight cuz I just spend my last bucks on materials for my cartridges and I don't get paid for another week" That added to the realism of the character, how he thinks of day to day things and how they affect him even though he is bigger than life.

Not really, I disagree with he "we would need a whole new thing on his brilliance" Peter has always been known for his intelligence particualry in the fields of biology and chemistry. I mean the kid was assistant to Dr Connors who was a brilliant professor. Peter has shown his intelligence by holding intelligent convo with Henry McCoy(Beast), Connors, and even Reed Richards and those guys are not idiots

I do agree that although personality may not have been changed but Megatron looks horrible and he is not a character that a person can relate to. Megatron should have been slightly altered. Why mess with a good thing?

But we are already shown that with awards and equations he solved. Those only took a minute to shape. We din't need ten minutes of it. So he is still brilliant, but needed little to really show it.
I echo the same sentiments as most people in this thread. Most of those designs just look ridiculous. It looks like 'Bionicle' or something I dunno just ridiculous. The great thing about transformers wasn't just the obvious fact that they were big robots that could transform, it also had to do with the fact that they could talk, they had feelings, personalities, story lines, etc. Each one of them were unique and special and you could easily tell apart who was an autobot from a decepticon just by their voices and actions.
I really had low hopes for a good live action transformers movie and after seeing these designs I'm even more pessimistic about it. I think Michael Bay should be dragged out into the street and horse whipped!
Having said all this, it's gonna be really hard for me to pass on this movie just because of the whole nostalgic factor, although it's obvious that they're not thinking of the fans of the animated series from the '80's with the making of this movie. They're creating something completely different from what I've seen so far, an abomination called transformers. My question then is why use that name at all? Call it something else?
Anyway, I'm gonna wait for a real trailer and commercials and stuff before I make up my mind on seeing this film obviously but even though I really don't want to support this bastard it's gonna be hard for me to pass due to my childhood connection to it and the curiosity of seeing these robots that I grew up watching in a live action movie. Reminds me of the He-man movie, yeah I watched it and it sucked ass. I really expect transformers to be no different. You know some cartoons just shouldn't be made into live action.
You know, now that I think about it, how come they never made GI Joe into a live action flick? You would think that would be the easiest one to do. Hmm...would be nice to see good 'ole Serpentor in Live Action, that would be 😎

Can anyone say extreme cheese? It's obviously fan made. You know I'm really thinking maybe some animations, as much as we like them just shouldn't be made into live action. I'm pretty sure this is why both Transformers and GI Joe already had an animated movie made instead of live action cuz even back then they prob knew it would end up looking real cheesy.
