You know its funny if you think about it.
In comparison:
cartoons- G.I Joe lasted longer because the characters and the show were more "belivable". It was also animated a lot better with fewer mistakes. Transformers was a more interesting show, but it started get carried away after a while. So did G.I joe but still.
Movies-Robots from another planet coming to ours seems more beliavble and more interesting than a guy wearing a blue hood on his face with another guy with a chrome head leading some terrorist organization wanting to the rule world in our own country with hi-tech military equipment.
Alas, I want to see both. You know damn well if TF is a succes G.I joe is getting green lit.
As long as this movie wants me to see a 2nd one, I'm cool with it. And hopefully they will introduce more characters in the sequels, with a reason how they got there unlike the G1 show.

Lol yes i meant pron, pron is just another wacky internet saying, also i agree its not othen that you get hot chicks in fan flicks, never seen a fan made transformers thank god, though saying that it would probably be better than what ive seen of the film so far.

On the new Transformers models for the movie, very disappointing. Maybe im just stuck in the past, but Transformers just dont look like that.
I was Transformer mad when i was a kid and maybe that stops me from being open minded on this but even my own son said "thats not Megatron" when i showed him that picture (and he follows the Armada, Energon and Cybertron series to).
I was really excited when i heard about this movie, especially when i heard they were going to be faithful to the G1 characters. The feeling that old time fans like myself would have got seeing Optimus and Megatron on the big screen looking like their G1 characters would have been like seeing Spidey web swinging for the first time in the latest movies. It takes you back to being a kid again and i dont mind saying i like that feeling. I dont think i'll have any connection to these new "Transformers" if i go to see the movie, other than being told who they are supposed to be. I'll probably just wait for the DVD, its a wasted opportunity for something great imo.
The whole thing is (well should be) a visual spectacle. If they follow how transformers stuff usually starts out, they'll begin with Cybertron.
That should be a site to see, and hopefully some galactic civil war action on the planet.
If I were doing it, thats how I would start it. Immedietly sucking you in. No set up, people already know what transformers are.
If they start the movie on earth and then focus on Cybertron with autobots and decepticons leaving to come earth, then they moved to slow and are not focusing on the main subject matter.
Earth is just a backdrop to the story. Its a location, nothing more. The transformers are the characters of the story. So they better follow up on their slogan "their war, our world"
