i have never, not in my whole life, seen so many "questionable" analogies.
i too am guilty of this, before you take offense.
Questionable analogies? Are you one of those people who thinks "belief" is only a major thing? That a person is only believing if it is in a God or something? Epistemology holds that, fundamentally .we are incapable of truly not-believing. We go through life, we do it, we continue to do it. Belief can be small, subtle, tiny. Most people have, and will, believe in something. They will believe they have a chance to win the lotto, or that their marriage will last and be happy, or in god, or in a political/moral/charitable cause. They will believe the lie of a child, or believe they look good with a toupee. They will believe, because it is what we do.
True belief in nothing, nothing at all, is not as common as you make out. And it is a failing of the religious communities to attribute not believing in Gods as a sign of Nihilism, as a sign of life with neither value, meaning or truth. Which is wrong. You have been told again and again why Nihilism is not applicable as a blanket term. You have been told there are many terms to deal with types of nonbeliever, but you are stuck because you don't have a nice "all in together" word to describe people who don't "believe" - despite the fact that "Nonbeliever" seems to work fine.
