Scans will be a valuable commodity this time around. Using hyperbole and quotes from other characters stating occurances won't.
For example, a scan of Uatu the Watcher saying "Surfer's blast was powerful destroy a planet" won't cut it if your saying Surfer can fire a planet buster. A actual picture of Surfer's blast destroying a planet will.

Certain things we know enough about though. For example, If you're talking about Surfer's energy manip in a general manner, and arguing whether or not it could destroy a character, again, you might have to quantify, but a scan wouldn't be absolutely necessary.
Scans are good, but we don't want to emphasize them to the point that a team without a scanner can't win the tourney. But the respect threads should help too. 🙂
