Absolutely. There are a couple of people that I know that are true Gossipers and I don't really put too much faith in anything they tell me, for it usually turns out to be wrong.

Not all gossip is like that. If you tell a co-worker that someone ran out of toilet paper in the men's room and had to use the window curtains, I don't think that would involve too much back-stabbing there.

That's a rumor and therefore gossip. Actually, I think it's fact.

But I believe gossip actually hurts somebody. It's a broken trust. And once a trust is broken people will never trust you.

I've attended churches where something was told to a pastor in confidence only to be told to the congragation when that member wasnt there...........That's a big no no.

If I said Debbiejo slept with Bardock, and neither of you cared that it was told, it would still be gossip but wouldn't hurt you. It's all relative. In fact, I heard you both were pretty proud of it.

Now I agree, most gossip hurts, but to say it's all devastating and back-stabbing is a bit much.

But like I said before, gossip is usually only a part of the story.

True, If a person doesn't care, then there is no problem. And usually you can tell when talking to that person if they do or not.....If not sure, you can always ask, "Is this a secret?".......But generally people say "Please don't share this with anyone.".......

Gossip can hurt tremendously. Not only that, but in my mind, most of the time it's innacurate, or downright completely wrong information. Gossip mongers are sad, usually bitter little people, with little else in their lives to stimulate their idle minds, ergo, they speculate and formulate stupidity in order to hurt others.
