Good point, and I think Supes gives Thanos a run for his money hand to hand... his strength feats are second to none really, his speed feats are proven vastly more than Thanos. Durability and Stamina, i'd give to Thanos, but not by a drastic margin, unless its something like magic.. All in all I think Supes stacks a little higher in this handicapped fight.
Agreed. Superman has some INSANE durability feats...such as this one...
He repairs rips in time and space with his body.
Originally posted by SkeetsNo, you use Thor as he's consistantly portrayed, not as he was consistantly portrayed 30 years ago. When was the last time you saw Thor slap someone so hard he cracked the fabric of time and space? Why doesn't he do that to Thanos?
You use Classic Thor and all those feats are canon, who ever downplays them as being retconned or being from a badly written era is just plain ignorant.Thor has not gone through any major retcons except for a few which didn't effect his power level whats so ever. There is no Precrisis Darkseid since the crisis didn't effect him but he went through the same thing as Thor and Hulk as being written more conservative and overall not as impressive.
The difference is, Darkseid still does everything impressive and besides losing to Supes, nothing can really be held against him...given retcons against all of his other losses besides Superman and proof of his powers in other titles. Such as turning Secret or Validus into children, or killing a celestial with his touch.
In a consistant showing, not many can match Supes... we can grab awesome feats from last year, the year before, or the year before that...or last issue... while people are trying to go back 25-40 years to see something impressive from Thor.

Recently Thor has been King Thor, and now Rune King Thor. If you want us to use those characters then so be it.

Originally posted by SkeetsThat's how I consider it as well, but the "avatar" bit didn't come around into full consideration until a need to retcon a dozen or so losses came along.
Have they really been retconned because they were Avatars?I was under the impression that the Darkseid we all see is always an avatar of his trueself. So I just thought he used weaker avatars to fight supes and the others.

Otherwise arguing RKT against Superman is just dumb.

You just told me to use thor how he is now portrayed and not 30 years ago. Thor is now RTK, and is superior to Superman in every way.

How do you get this thread coming down to Rune King Thor vs Superman?
You're totally off base here.
People were using Thor as a benchmark for comparison, and you're like "BTU THOR IAASS STRINGEST ONE THER EI SSS SEE OIS RUNE KING THOR AND STYRONGER THENA SUPES ISSS!!!!!!!!!"
That's what I see now looking at your posts.
Rune King Thor having more power at his disposal than Superman is completely irrelivent to the thread.
If this WAS a Thor vs Superman thread, this MIGHT be applicable, if people were saying "use the current version", however without it being specified it would NOT be Supes vs RKT, but rather...Thor's average portrayal[specifically mentioned as a 'version' or 'powered up' character in the forum rules], and once again not 40 years ago.
Are you wanting people to admit Rune King Thor could possibly stop Superman or something? Is that what you're reaching out with this incredibly thin line is?
Go to a Thor thread to fish for Thor compliments next time.
RKT>Superman.
Superman>Thor.
But now.. what does any of that prove?
