Originally posted by Bardock42I have also prayed to God. About two years ago I was going to miss a sporting event, so I prayed it would rain on that day so it would be cancelled. It didn't rain. Not only that, but I have questioned God's existance and even swore at him by sticking up my middle finger at heaven, expecting a responce. Didn't get one. I've done more things, but these two are the only ones I can think of now. Out of all the things I've done, I got no responce, as if I'm talking to nothing. So I came to the conclusion I was talking to nothing.
I did, I talked to God, I wanted to believe (maybe I just wanted to be safe, I don't know), but I tried....and I just can't make myself to believe it. It just doesn't seem plausible to me. I have not seen a God work in my everyday life.

Okay, I will try.How long do you think I should wait for an answer. And how do you think it might be delivered?
I believe that you should not be concerned with waiting for the answer per se, but in making sure that you are sincere. The answer may come in a manner that you did not expect when you are not conscious of it or not thinking about it.

But how will I realize that it is the answer.
As Quiero said, even if lightning struck next to me, I would blame it on chance...just the way I am.

Did you honestly expect God to cause the rain and ruin everyone else's day by cancelling not only your team's event, but everyone elses? That is ridiculous. Then you give God the middle finger... that in itself is ridiculous. Then you expect God to do what? Smite you? That is also ridiculous.

Well, there are 2 kinds of prayers, the kind for yourself and the kind for someone else.
Selfish doesnt mean its evil.

Remember guys, I can be slightly stupid at night.
