German.

French Canadian.

That would hurt a lot if it were true. Do French Canadians even have a bad reputation in Germany?

With me they do.

German.

What's wrong with being German? I'm Swiss and German. Why should that be a reference to hiding your head under the covers? There's nothing wrong with being a person of that herritage. It's everyone else who wants to turn it into a banner for racial hatred.

I am German too. I can also speak limited German, but sadly I've forgotten most of it. It was purely a joke.

What's wrong with it? Nothing. The fact that we have to apologize for being the "master race" is what's fu*ked up. I don't feel that way about myself at the expense of other races. That's what's wrong with it, I'm expected to do so. Sorry I have blue eyes, but I'm not responsible for past atrocities. So should I spend the rest of my life being apologetic for the actions of my own hate-filled relatives? Should I, personally, fell regret over the holocaust, just becaue I had family members who were responsabile for carrying it out? No, I don't.

Who makes you apologize for being German? That's fairly odd. There is nothing wrong with being German which is why I don't understand why you're even asking most of those questions.

I understand it.

I would if I had said Nazi, but I was going for the straight xenophobic ultranationalistic approach, not the Nazi approach. Apparently I screwed it up 🙁

Right, JIA?

Wrong, Hermes is mythological.

And so is the resurrection of Jesus.

God's ideas of love are awfully strange if you listen to the fundamentalist types.

I mean really this is an entity that lets his son be killed by people and then forgives them for that but condems two men being in love. WTF?

Support what you say if you can.

Hermes is recorded in Greek mythology and lore (this is his original context), but Jesus Christ is never associated with Greek mythology. There are historical, extrabiblical records that Jesus Christ existed. Do your homework though because I will not do it for you.

Yes he did....the use of the terms Hades and Tarturus are constantly in the Bible. The Bible has borrowed mythologies from religions which preceded it.

No, I know that there are records of Jesus's existance. I never said Jesus didn't exist, I even created a thread about it" Jesus was a Great Man"

However, his Resurrection is pure myth.

Hades = Sheol therefore that argument fails. Tartarus is used once, not constantly and is described as different from the Tartarus, therefore this fails as well. Transliterating Hebrew idioms into Greek simply used Greek words. That is no secret, however, they are different so that argument for borrowing this cannot stand.

I agree. I am English and I quite admire Germans.
