Explain.

"Fool," written in the Bible, denotes someone who is morally wayward. Not "foolish."

And since, according to the Bible, anyone who does not follow the bible is considered "morally wayward," it been nice for the Christian right to co-opt the modern meaning of the word to describe those who are not fundamentalist Chistians.

I would reply to that but Alliance pretty much covered it for me.

So then it is safe to say that Christian fundmentalists are "foolish" while the rest of us are "fools" ?

You're both, I'm afraid.

Of course, so are they.

Apparently you've chosen to shit in your hand and eat it.

JIA is a fool. If I'm wrong about how you've reacted, please tell me.

How so Cap_Fantastic? What makes you say that I am a fool?

Psalm 14:1
The fool has said in his heart,“There is no God.” They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.

According to the Bible a fool is someone who says in his/her heart that there is no God. Based on this Scripture I am no fool. I say in my heart (and with my mouth) that there is a God. His Name is Jesus Christ.

That doesnt matter, there had to be something there to start the universe, and for whatever that thing that started the universe off, there needed to be something to exist before that. It is impossible for the universe to exist if at some point nothing existed it doesnt matter if only electromagnetic energy existed there was still something.

All life and matter has its origin with God (the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and End, the First and the Last). God is the First Cause.

God is the First Cause.
So your definition of God is "the beginning"? If so, I agree. There is a beginning.

His Name is Jesus Christ the righteous.

1 John 2:1
My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

Revelation 1:9-18
9 I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. 10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet, 11 saying, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, ” and, “What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.”
12 Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, 13 and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. 14 His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire; 15 His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters; 16 He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength. 17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. 18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.

That's a lot to fit on a buisness card. And isn't he a junior?

The fact that you're basing the definition of a fool on scripture makes you one in my eyes. Plus, yes we all know that you're a Christian just by looking at your screen name, there's no need to ram it down everyones throats, and, use it as some kind of moral pedestal.

There are other descriptions for what a fool is, but I am not dealing with those definitions due to the context (remember: this is a religion forum).

OK mate I'll remember that, but you also have to remember that not everyone wants or needs to be converted.

I do have a question though, how come in most religious circles they talk mostly of Jesus, what happened to God being in the limelight?

Chillmeistergen, Jesus is God.

Right OK thanks for clearing that up. Must be nice to have faith and all that but I think I'll remain agnostic. Maybe that makes me a fool I don't know, and, I don't really care.
