Jesusisalive, look i believe in god and jesus christ as much as you do, but there isn't facts to prove thhat what happened in the bible really happened that way. I stated this in the infallible bible thread, but its not even known whether or not the men who supposedly wrote the 4 gospels ever did write them and they could totally have been written by some random guys who put the names of those 4 men on the gospels. It is only a matter of faith and whether or not you truly believe in god. A lot of these people don't and I've seen you try to quote bible verses a lot. Its not going to change anyones opinion if they don't fidn the bible to be a reliable source to begin with. Relentlessly throwing this stuff out there seems to be making people even less likely to pursue chirstianity than with none of this beign thrown out there. Just try to respect other people's beliefs rahter thna saying tis not true, it does say in the bible that god is a merciful god so even if these people don't believe now, they most likely will have soem kidn fo chance to redeem themselves in the afterlife.

You and Debbiejo are truly something else Imperial_Samura. You too are little children compared to God. I know you too think that your logic makes sense, but it DOES NOT MAKE FAITH. That is the crux of the whole matter. No matter what YOU THINK, RATIONALIZE, or what have you it will never amount to faith so it cannot please God. Your thinking just doesn't square up with God's modus operandi. God DOESN'T think the way that YOU THINK that He should think--at all. And you know what? He never will. You two have so many child-like rationalizations for everything relative to God. They are quite amusing (again, I apologize if I am offending you two) because no matter how sincere you both are you are not operating in faith. So none of what you deduce or rationalize will get you to where you want to be with God. All of it is in vain. You guys will see what I am talking about. I am not trying to offend you two. 🙂

I am pleased you think rationalisation is a child thing. Hmmm, I remember fondly of things I took on faith when I lacked the maturity to think for myself as much and rationalise and use logic and common sense. These faiths were called Santa Claus, Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy. But my mind was fast and I quickly out grew them (quicker then pretty much all the other kids my age.) How is it different what you are advocating here? Don't use your God given brain... just believe Imperial. Just believe.

And you aren't giving your God much credit. Are you saying he is incapable of understanding his creation? One of the basic parts of sentience and a normal working mind is the ability to understand a. other people think and b. understand the way they do. This is God. He can think however he wants - and if he existed and actually cared I think he would understand the minds of the things he CREATED and the way they WORK. The whole "Go doesn't think like they, thus the way you think is useless" is a joke - explain why God made us this way if this way is in fact wrong.

Well, if that is the case, then your all loving God is the one who has doomed me. The way my mind works, its rationalisation etc - that is me. Always had been. If we assume, as you seem to imply, that God created us, then he made me like this. He made me in a way that I would be unable to blindly accept. Why would he do this I ask? You make out it is I, being petulant and refusing to see, yet I notice in this ands the other thread you failed to explain how a person is meant to oppress their mind in order to meet the criteria of what you think faith is.

😆 You are so LOST !

A God of Hate, a God of Discrimination, a God of narrow mindedness, a God of hypocrisy, a God if contradictions, a God of many flaws, a God of failed churches...is no God for me. ❌❌❌

Ask Yourself my ignorant freind (I don't mean to offend you 🙄 )...How does a God who created something as complex and chaotic as the universe ,care for such miniscule things such as men shaving thier beards, men having sex with other men, and women becoming church authorities?

It all seems clearly ABSURD to me. 👇

oh sh*t....

... i shaved this morning. fear

A God of love. If you think he is a God of hate you are horribly misreading the scriptures and I would require proof of this hatred. Discrimination against who? I'll assume you are referring to homosexuals and answer you this: discrimination is bias based on what we are not what we do. Homosexual actions are condemned not being homosexual. A God of narrowmindedness? How so? If someone does find everything permissable they are not narrowminded. You need to realize this. A God of hypocracy? Where? When? Back up your claims if you can. Contradictions? This has been brought up before and you need to understand that there are no contradictions. Flaws? None. Failed churches? Human error not God's. It is the result of free will not God's will. Women can be church authorities in Biblical Christianity so do not make false claims please, homosexuality is not miniscule by the definition you used because it is in contrast to God's design. And men are allowed to shave their beards. Please quit attempting to bash God without valid claims. It is pointless.

Actions of hatred, intolerance, etc. have proven that there is some serious miscommunication between God and some theists.

That is unscriptural. Once a person dies in their sins (i.e., unforgiven of their sins) they have sealed their own fate for eternity. Let's read what Jesus said about this matter.

[B]John 8:24
Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”[/ B]

God wants people to die IN CHRIST (i.e., forgiven of all their sins). If someone dies in their sins then they will suffer the penalty of their sins and give account of all their sins. That is why it is critical that a person dies in Christ (forgiven) that way when they stand before God they will be considered "righteous" by virtue of Christ's righteousness being credited to their life as it were. God no longer sees your sins because they have been washed by the blood of Jesus (i.e., expunged for eternity). You will never have to answer for those sins.

But die in your sins and its over. God will hold you accountable for every sin that you ever thought, spoke, or committed through. Don't despair though, God made a way for you to die forgiven. Simply put your faith in Jesus Christ asking Him to save you now from all of your sins. Turn away from committing any more sin and strive to grow up in Christ (to become mature spiritually by reading and obeying the Word of God daily). Talk to Father through prayer daily and tell others how they can be forgiven of their sins and receive eternal life through Jesus Christ.

So much for a loving and forgiving God. Even a parent will love his wayward son/daughter.

Except for the "Christian" ones that try to burn their children because they are homosexual.

Imperial_Samura,

There are some things that God wants/expects us to accept by faith (e.g., salvation only through Jesus Christ). I am not saying that God wants you to check your brain at the door as it were and never use it to rationalize, deduce, infer, and just plain old think. Perhaps that is the impression that I left you with. God is not a man (i.e., human being). We (myself included) should constantly remind ourselves of this fact. God does not think (i.e., rationalize or apply logic to various situations) the way that we do. God is rational and sensible but He (or His mind trancends the human mind infinitely). We cannot perceive reality the way that God does unless He permits us to. There are no limits on His intelligence, no constraints, barriers, or boundaries. God is the true, consummate out-of-the-box Thinker (in every sense of the word). But we are not. We see things from certain vantage points at times but still our thinking is very limited. God sees the end at the beginning. In fact, God forsees every possible ramification, effect, result, and consequence for every situation before He makes a decision. We do not have that kind of capacity. That is why we make mistakes. God never makes a mistake. How can God make a mistake when He sees or has knowledge about a situation before He acts? But see WE THINK (there goes our brilliant minds again, thinking that we somehow know something that God does not) that if God commands something of His creation and we do the complete opposite, that God was somehow in the dark about that. God knows what will happen 1000 years from now, and He is able to describe it in accurate detail.

I will have to revisit this post I am not done with it.

And God does love us. He has grace and will forgive us when we repent. Your analogy is a good one because God is a Father to us and when we stray from the path of righteousness he offers us a way back into his way. God allows us to make our own choices (free will) and consequences (good or bad) follow these choices. God offers you the chance for repentance and his saving grace until the end of your lifetime. If in the end we choose not to follow God we have chosen Hell and God does not shield us from the consequences of our choices.

I want to see your faces as you see God in all of His splendor, glory, and majesty sitting on His throne. I want to watch as the Lord Jesus Christ embraces you in His everlasting love. I want to watch you marvel as you walk on streets of pure transparent gold. I want to see your expression as you realize that the Word is true all along and that you almost missed Heaven because of unbelief. Don't miss Heaven. Revelation 21-22:6
1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”
6 And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

Wow! 🙂

9 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me and talked with me, saying, “Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.” 10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11 having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal. 12 Also she had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 13 three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west.
14 Now the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 15 And he who talked with me had a gold reed to measure the city, its gates, and its wall. 16 The city is laid out as a square; its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand furlongs. Its length, breadth, and height are equal. 17 Then he measured its wall: one hundred and forty-four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of an angel. 18 The construction of its wall was of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass. 19 The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones: the first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, 20 the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. 21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.

Wow, wow! 🙂

22 But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. 24 And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. 25 Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there). 26 And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it. 27 But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Revelation 22:1-6
1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. 4 They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. 5 There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.

6 Then he said to me, “These words are faithful and true.” And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His servants the things which must shortly take place.

Wow, I can't wait! 😄 🙂 😉 😎 💃

I cant either.

There are a number of Scripture verses that seem or appear at first glance without careful study to indicate that Jesus is not God. For example,

John 17:3
And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent .

This verse is used invariably by Jehovah's Witnesses to make Jesus subordinate to the Father and to un-deify Him. Jesus is not saying that He Himself is not God, He is merely stating for time immemorial that God (Whom He is praying to) is the One True God as opposed to all of the false gods out there. Folks there are a plethora of Scripture verses where the Holy Spirit inspired writers referred to Jesus as God. Examine the entire Word of God before coming to a definitive conclusion about something.
