There is some truth to this.
It is my impression that the one thing taken from Africans when they were brought here, the one thing that other persecuted people had which gave them strength, which gave them hope, which gave them the power to survive their oppression and thrive, was their heritage.
IMO, speaking as a Jew, it was our culture, our heritage and faith which has enabled us to thrive despite millennia of persecution. We identified with something bigger than ourselves. Other demographic groups had theirs as well. But to a large extent, this is exactly what was stripped from Africans.
Now...does this mean African-Americans are special, that they deserve special treatment? "Reparations?" No. Many African-Americans themselves resent the notion, find it demeaning, because it implies that they are not as capable as the next guy. And while life is Not fair, while Racism still exists, there is one other factor--The Most Important Factor--which will determine the quality of one's life. And a mature, responsible individual--regardless of faith/culture/race--knows exactly what it is:
Making the right choices.

no cause his last five jobs he was fired 😐 1st. he was fired cause of underage. 2nd. fired cause of him being arrested for being around some guy who had drugs in his car and he didn't know he got bailed ermm 3rd. fired for cussing out his boss 😱 another racist 4th. fired for falling asleep on the job 😆 5th. fired for license being suspended 😐
so he was fired from 5 denied by 2. and can't get a job cause of those reasons
