300 years? Right....America abolished Slavery in 1863...America was founded in 1776....That's not 300 years. ❌

Now if you want to count colonial slavery, then slaves first came into play by the Spanish in 1526. However, they were not Americans who brought them in, so you really have no right asking for reparations from that.

So in conclusion...Get your facts right before you ask for money...After you do that, then come talk to me...I just might give you a whole five dollars.

How on earth is a wound supposed to heal if a person keep picking at it? Yes, there is a scar, yes, the wound can never be forgotten, but really as a culture it is not healthy to dwell on it - better by far to have learned from the bad things that happened, and worked towards stopping bad things happening again - now I am yet to see an actual reason why flooding a sector of US society with cash will somehow magically help with the pain, or improve things. Or in fact do anything of benefit.

The atrocities against native americans doesn't cancel anything. The belief that the descendants of those who did commit atrocities owes the descendants of those who suffered from them is what cancels the argument out.

If you would bring that down to an individual level, that would be like the great great grandchild of a murder victim suing the great great grandchild of the murderer in a civil court 100 years after the crime took place.
How absurd would that be to blame all your lifes problems on a person whose great great grandfatehr killed your great great grandfather?

um no cause the qualifications for them were to be in high school atleast he was already in college he was overqualified, anyway the jobs he was denied from only had 1 black person both of them, and 1 mexican at one job, the rest of the staff was white.

His words were:

People from other races now expect racism, but instead of finding some other way to deal with it they fight fire with fire, and naturally, that doesn't go down to well and just exacerbates things.

As for the comment made on jobs, companies have to take on at least 1 "minority", so the company looks "good".

i think most can agree that a check in the mail is bullshit, but what if that money was put toward revenue in underclass neighborhoods?

Affirmative Action is a voluntary program. If a company chooses to take on the program to, as this dude above me said, make them look "good," there are lawyers out there who will enforce them. I'm not really taking a stance by saying all that, but people should be aware of that info.

And about this "who's racist, you're racist, look at me, you're racist, oh, look at me, you're (ALL of you) racist" finger-pointing BS:

Two guys of different race go into a diner and get up to the jukebox at the same time, but one puts his quarters in first. If one guy says, "dude, you're racist for not letting me put my quarters in first!", can you please tell me which individual is the one who brought up the fact there is a difference in race to begin with?
I know this example is ridiculous but sometimes it takes the outrageous to point out even the most simplest of things.

There have been ad campaigns regarding this issue with Native American Casino owners. Most claim that they do help their community by providing jobs for the people. The controversy involved is that they don't pay taxes to the states or the federal government. Thus they gain financial increases in their wealth. Here in California this became a big issue during the state elections. Both sides of the issue have come out public saying the opposite of each other. At the moment the issue is not clearly resolved.

I lived in the US for six years and yes there is plenty of racism there but most of the racism I saw didn't come from white people.

But the inherited funds from slavery profits that have been passed down are being enjoyed by whites.
