Thom Yorke - The Eraser

It's alright, I've no real quarrels about the music. Thom Yorke just generally annoys me now.... The sooner he quits this one man show and gets Radiohead releasing music again, the better.

What one man show? He's entitled to make a solo album. He annoys you because he's not devoting all his time to Radiohead, a band who already have 6 full length albums, a few EPs and a live album?

Furthermore; The one man show that literally came out of nowhere, has had zero supporting concerts and has had zero effect on Radiohead's writing and recording process? Besides, you say "As soon as he..." as if he just strolls in, ironically, like a one man show and says "Come on, let's put out an album.". There's four other high end musicians he's writing with.

It's not all inclusive. If you loved Thom Yorke and loved The Cheeky Girls and Britney Spears I'd question you.

It's a start, though.

Pretty much, I just don't like Thom Yorke, my sister lived on the same street as him in Oxford last year and apparently he's just not a nice man. Of course Radiohead has slowed from him not working with the band. Running 2 fully fledged music careers is going to jeopardise the amount of time you can spend on anyone of the projects.

So, you don't like his music because he's not a good neighbour and he doesn't solely function as part as a collective?

That makes sense.

In Upside-Down World.

I said on the page before that I have nothing against the music.

Edit: Was this page actually.

So, you don't mind his music, but you want him to stop so he can go back to making music with Radiohead, which he is part of?

I don't understand. Please explain yourself.

I just prefer his band work to solo stuff. I'd like him to concentrate on Radiohead.

OK, but won't he annoy you when he's back making music with Radiohead seeing as he's the lead-singer? It's a kind of focal role in the band, you see.

A) Dumb reasons. Your sister may be a lovely person, but when she gives us a few albums of Radiohead quality, as Thom Yorke has, we can discusss just how important neighbourly attitude it.

B) Factually it hasn't, according to both Yorke and the band. Because if you bothered to check up on Radiohead activities, you'd see that they're doing well with the new album's progress.

The Eraser didn't take long to write and compose, it had no effect, and it's not like Thom Yorke has a fully fledged solo career. He has one album that he decided to put out, and did. He made all that music on his laptop, mainly. He wasn't dedicating massive time to it. Do your research.

I prefer Radiohead, but that doesn't mean I have the right to go around making wild and pointless accusations.

Nah, to have good taste is generally defined as having the same taste as me. I happen to like Thom Yorke though, so yeah, that might be a prerequisite.

I never made any wild accusations... I just prefer him as a band member than a solo artist. What I said has been taken out of context, I just want to hear another Radiohead album, rather than a Thom Yorke one. I don't know how you can sit here and tell me how much work someone put in to his album. From the sound of The Eraser it seems pretty well made... Not something one could do without taking time away from other things in his life. Do my research? On what? www.thomyorkeworkschedule.com?

As for your A), I really see a lack in point. I never questioned that his music.

Yes, he'll still annoy me but Radiohead's music is unbelievably good, so I won't mind.

Stop hating Thom Yorke already...though he could buy himself a real first name. tom for example.

Don't blame me, or us. You put it in the wrong context.

The fact that Thom Yorke has said himself that it's a collection of bits that he just didn't feel fit with Radiohead, pieces he simply created on his computer that didn't take long at all, because they came together successfully over a few years composing on downtime. I'd guess that's how I can tell you. I'm sure Thom Yorke is aware of how much effort he put into it.

He may very well have put a lot of effort in, but it didn't take a lot to make, by his own admission. It has had absolutely no negative effects on Radiohead at all, by their own admission. So if this is the case, it makes no difference to you how many he does. If he did 3 before the new Radiohead album, without ever interrupting it, why is it a bother to you?

Bands DO have days off you know, where they don't work on the album and perhaps work on other stuff. Do you want them to stop doing that also?

I'm sure he honestly cares.

😆

Maybe he could throw away the pointless 'e' on Yorke as well.

It's my fault that you have to over think ever post? My original post never said that his solo album was reducing the speed of Radiohead (even if it might have), you just took it as that. I was really just saying I'd quite like another Radiohead album.

I know that Radiohead had no problems with him releasing the album, they even played a couple of the songs I believe. It was never really a bother to me, I'm not 100% where you got that from. I can't imagine I'd buy his solo works though.

I'm sure he doesn't care what people think...

Thom = THOMas, by the way, Bardock.

You were the one who said your original post didn't say it, I never said it did, nor were we debating that. Furthermore; it doesn't matter whether your ORIGINAL post said it or not, you did, then denied it.

You got caught out, accept it and move on.

You really need a hug, don't you?

I wasn't debating anything, I was trying to explain. You just lambasted me like you usually do... Thom Yorke is one of the last things I wish to debate about. Debating about music in general.... Meh...

...and yet, here you are.

Just some advice: Don't post your opinion on a Music Discussion forum if you don't wish to discuss it.
