Anakin does not equal Luke...it may be in GL's eyes...but I just don't see it...they are very little of the same or even similar situations to make different actions in.

Storywise it does: repetition of themes. IN a way Luke is Anakin in a second attempt: similar path, different choices. This is the literary approach GL has in these films.

What was the similar path? And I see little recurring themese between the two...

Read the novel or listen to the radio play. Plus there are a few hints in the movie.

And when OB1 met Anakin, he had just won his FIRST podrace!!! He lost all them before.

And look, the comparisons don't have to be IDENTICAL.... that would be repeating. They are SIMILAR, REFLECTING each other. So even training at a late age counts, because in both cases it is brought up as an argument AGAINST beginning the training.

Maybe you should watch these films first before you start posting. 😉

I am taking a page from your book this time: We weren't shown it, only hints were given, it would have been nice to see it.

I wasn't taking away from Anakin's pilotness, we knew he was a great pilot...it was shown.

But one was twice the age of the other!

It's CLEAR Luke was a great pilot... even hermit OB1 knew about it. Like he came to watch Luke fly...

Plus... HE EVEN BLOWS UP THE DS!!!! I mean, not podrace can beat that.

I beg to differ, when Anakin was the only human in the entire galaxy to be able to fly one of those...somebody else could have destroyed the death star, maybe not as fast, but they could have.

That's not the point, the point is they were both great pilots.

Yes, I can accept that, I was elaborating on the part where you said no podrace beats the blowing up of the Death Star.

Well, how many humans did blow up a DS until then.

Anyway, now you see that Anakin=Luke?
