What are you a christian fundie?

no. not at all. neither of those words describe me.

what the heck are you?

Well right now im a heathen LOL Heathens are polytheistic but I think you can be both poly and mono at the sametime.

Hindus belive that God is everywhere (well at least I think so), because he is infinite. You cannot have two infinite things because two implies a seperation therfore there is only one god.

you can't believe that there are many seperate god, but there is only one god.

Hence why Hinduism is henotheistic. "Monotheism in principle and a polytheism in fact." One god, many forms...also like the Christian trinity.

Well I just think it depends on how you look at it. I think both our views are correct.

i dont see how that is possible?

To everyone else it MAY seem to be polytheistic, BUT IT IS not. That is a common misconception of westerners( lol I'm a westerner too, but anyway).

It all lies in your definition of god. Most other religions will refer to the supreme being as God. But in hinduism there are the references of gods and goddesses. This is not the same God being refered to here. In the translated versions "gods" are the male version of THE supreme being that everyone else calls GOD.
We have a term for God and that is Bhagwan, or Bhagavan or Paramatman..... that is the supreme being.

SO it IS one god alone, just different versions. Just like how man has different version of himself........... a father, a brother, a friend, a jackass, a fool.......... different things to describe different aspects of him, but its still the SAME man.
THAT is what we do in hinduism. Shiva to describe creation/destruction, Saraswati to describe learning, Hanuman to describe strength and loyalty etc....... But we are still refering to ONE God, the same god.

Not really.

FIRST. There are different sects of Hinduism that have differing interpretations about how monotheistic Hinduism should be.

Still. In Hinduism, god minifests himself in many other godly forms. Its NOT monothesism, because god is not always wearing the same face. He has different personas and ideas.

Its NOT polytheism, becuase each god is not really independant.

Hence the term Henotheism, which covers Hinduism quite well. One god in all its polytheistic forms.

I was never saying that it is Monotheistic, and neither it is polytheistic.
There is No way that hinduism can be classified as being monotheistic, most, if not all, old/ancient religions can never be classified as being monotheistic.

So how you say 'not really' to my post?

you say there is only 1 god...therfor if muslims worship a god...it must be the same god

logic

No. There are many false gods but only One, True God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The living God who is the Father of Jesus. This is the True God.

But this is not the case in Islam. Their god Allah cannot be the same God as the Christian God because in the Koran it is recored that Allah denies having a son. But the Bible states in a multitude of places that God does have a Son. Jesus even stated that God is His Father. Don't believe me? Let's take a look at the Koran. The Koran is organized into "Surahs" instead of by chapter and verse like the Bible.

Read:

Surah 4:171 O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and say not "Three" - Cease! (it is) better for you! - Allah is only One God. Far is it removed from His Transcendent Majesty that He should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as Defender.

Surah 6:101 The Originator of the heavens and the earth! How can He have a child, when there is for Him no consort, when He created all things and is Aware of all things ?

Surah 18:4,5 And to warn those who say: Allah hath chosen a son, (A thing) whereof they have no knowledge, nor (had) their fathers, Dreadful is the word that cometh out of their mouths. They speak naught but a lie.

Heavy, heavy contradiction. They are not the same god. God is God, Allah is "a" false god. There are many false gods and Allah is just one of the many gods who are false. The True God does have a Son and His Name is a Name that is above every name. That Name is Jesus!

I found another passage in the Koran where Allah denies having a son. More proof that Allah and the God of the Bible cannot be the same god. God has a Son (Jesus the Christ) Allah denies having a son.

Surah 23:91 Allah hath not chosen any son, nor is there any god along with Him; else would each god have assuredly championed that which he created, and some of them would assuredly have overcome others. Glorified be Allah above all that they allege.

Whoop, there it is!

so basically you're calling an entire religion and its followers as a bunch of heathens and heretics

and but the way...it's the Qur'an...not the Koran

I think Koran is the English equivalent of the Arabic Qur'ran. No? No? No? But then I could be wrong ya know I am just a man.

You know why you all keep getting so upset, it is because instead of quoting what I "do" say many of you put your own words in my mouth. Then you all get worked up into a frenzy about what you all said that I said. That makes you all even more angry.

But...the truth of the matter is your getting yourselves flustered over your own words. Why not quote me Jaden101 so that we can find out what I actually said.

Did I call an entire religion and its followers as a bunch of heathens and heretics (they may be but I didn't say that)? All I did was show up and expose a great big dinosaur-size contradiction on the Islamic side of the fence as it relates to the Bible. Proving once and for all, time and eternity, infinity and beyond...uh...where did that come from? Anyhoo, I proved that Allah and God are not the same god because the real God has a Son (Jesus the Christ).

You are a racist bigot that doesnt have the right to bear the name Christian.

Nobody quotes you because overall you are obviously not clear in what you are saying. He was asking you to clarifying what he thought you said. Rather than correct his confusion you just say he should understand the words coming out of my mouth.

He asked, " Are you calling the nation of Islam and all the Muslims therein a bunch of heathens and heretics?"

You should have said, "yes."
