Guys, I need your help...

..in a 15 team league, drafting only offensive players. Now that Portis will likely miss week 1, where would draft him? And how many RBs would you take ahead of Manning? Again, I repeat this is a 15 TEAM league.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. 🙂

Portis is missing week 1? Damn. Well, he probably still doesn't drop a ton, but you'll probably have to draft a solid backup really quick to be ok in the opening weeks.

I had him at #4. He probably drops a few spots, but not out of the top 8 or so unless he'll be missing a lot of time.

....

Also, I'd always advise people to take a RB in round 1, regardless of who's available. That said, 15 is a lot. But chances are he'll go earlier than he should, so you shouldn't have to worry about picking him. I wouldn't take him any earlier than about 9th (I have 3 RBs in Tier 1, 5 in Tier 2....I'd put Manning right behind them).

But like I said, he'll probably be gone around pick #6, which is too early. Anything sooner than 12 is probably too early, but if he falls to, say, 8th and you want to gamble, it's your call. But I'd go RB/RB in the next 2 rounds after that regardless of who's left.

ive yet to hear that portis will miss week1, everything i have heard is that he will play obviously its still a ways away so you cant be sure.

I heard that he is out indefinitly, which could mean anything.

well he is because they dont have an exact time frame but they also say they expect him to be there for week 1

He still has to be a highly-drafted back. Though I'd go with my original assessment and drop him a few spots down to about 7 or 8th.

who are you taking above him now.. tiki, rudi, edge, jackson/lamont?

What are the starting positions for this league?

QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, K, DEF

Those guys for sure, if he's out week 1...my opinion.

You ladies ready to lose? When does the draft take place?

Beats me. I got an e-mail yesterday saying it was a live draft at something like 11:15 at night, and then got another one saying it was an offline draft.

I'd take Tiki, Rudi, Jackson, that might be about it. Cadillac/Edge/Lamont/etc. are right there on the fringe, but I'd still rather take my chances with Portis. Once he comes back and is healthy, he's one of the highest in the league for projected carries per game.

Presumably sometime Sunday night.

Thanks Digi..

Ok Guys I know sunday evening, but what time frame works. ESPN is sorta retarded at times about it. And they only have certain times available, and they add more as they go so Im trying to find one on next sunday around 7-8 but is a little earlier or later ok? Would a draft as late as 11 eastern work?

For example this sunday the 20th, the best I can do is 11:15 pm.
Next Sunday the 27th best is 11:45. So... yea what we wanna do about it?

If we go all the way to Sunday the 3rd we can get some better times. Either 6:45 or 9:15 And that works because the first game is thursday the 7th.

SO post back quickly and let me know which of those options works best.

Oh one final choice, 2:45 this Sunday the 20th I dont know if thats too early for people or not.

Don't worry, forum, we'll draft for you. I heard Vanderjagt is going to have a breakout year, so we'll get him for you in Round 1. 😛

I think Sunday the 3rd is great. Closer to opening day the better. Might have a few conflicts with Labor Day, but none with me.

well im good with any of those draft times, just a matter of you guys. And year that sunday worries me some. So id rather do either 2:45 this sunday or 11 one of the next 2 sundays.

Man i thought it might be smaller rosteres cause of the 15 teams....

I would kinda want to draft 10-15 here, so I could pick up a RB and a WR right off the top. and then when it gets back to you for your next 2 well who knows but definitely a good QB would be there and either finish off the RB/WR with whicher better one is left. And grab a ton of promising backup RB's or rookie ones late.

Also, we're given a 4 man bench, with a cap not to exceed 8 roster players total at the QB, RB, and WR spots. With 15 teams drafting 12 players (180 total) the talent pool gets quite dimished in a hurry.

Umm Sunday is perfect for me.

Just tell me the time on Sunday. Presumably this sunday.

well 2:45pm or 11:15 pm which is better
