Alright, let's analyze everything wrong with that one page you keep resorting too.Barry was not caught by Black Flash. Barry reappeared in Infinite Crisis (or he's still stuck in a constant loop where he turns into the lightning bolt that struck himself). Barry is not dead.
Johnny Quick was killed by Savitar (IIRC) with no mention of Black Flash ever racing after him at any time (back when Waid was writing).
Savitar went to speed force heaven, but was not killed (again, no mention of Black Flash). He got exactly what he was searching for by linking up with the speed force (this also happened when Waid was writing).
Well then techniclly Speedsters never die 😬
They just merge with the speed force.

You're right, I pulled out the old Savitar run and realized that Johnny merged with the speed force (so I stand corrected). I also forgot that he appeared with Barry and Max in Infinite Crisis to help pull Superboy Prime into the Speed Force.
I never really liked Johnny all that much anyway, but the issue where Wally uses the speed formula for the first time is pretty sweet.
why the hell did black flash cease to exist, but flash didn't? you'd think, once everything stops existing [even as a concept,] human life, or the speedforce, would have ceased to exist as well.
anyway, the fact that flash outran black flash does not contradict the fact that black flash was the faster of the two. it's heavily implied that, once time ripped open, black flash started at a disadvantage. and he caught up. thus, he was moving faster. he still didn't win though, thus, he was outrun. whether flash was really at his "limit," which he seemed to be pointing to, is irrelevant. case closed.

i read the scans many times. technically, he did "beat" the black flash, considering he got to the end of time first. black flash ceased to exist. but black flash was moving faster, he simply didn't catch up in time. whether or not wally was moving as fast as he possibly can, or could, is completely not the point.

if you think feeling the metaphysical made physical brushing against his neck counts as "catching up," i suppose. but, going by your previous interpretation that the black flash embodies death itself, and it couldn't kill wally before it ceased to exist itself, seems to me he didn't catch him. seems to me.
Originally posted by Disappearbrushed against his neck? BF caught up to the flash easily, and had flashes entire head in his hands, the only thing that saved him was that they hit the end of reality before death could kill him, but BF did a little more then brushing his neck:

it also says that the black flash eventually "caught up" to various other "fastest men on earth"-types, and now they're dead. so, by that logic, when the black flash catches up to you, you die. so, if he was caught, why isn't flash dead? i'm just saying.
also, black flash has his hands around flash's head; he's hardly choking the life out of him with his black costume and metaphor powers.
Originally posted by Disappear"death catching up to them" is a metaphor but BF being the personifacation of death is not.....my god read the scans slowly, u are the only person that has argued whether or not BF was death
