No its not. In fact some of the things people consider a sin - like paying more attention to philosophy and science - is about as far as a person can get from Barbaric.
Personally the whole Cain and Abel story always made me angry. Abel offers an animal sacrifice. Cain offers the best of his crop. Yet does God care? Not really. He was a plant farmer for God's sake, what was he meant to do? Go and kill a wild animal for no other reason then to other it to God? Disgraceful.
God would probably have been delighted if when Cain killed Abel Cain had said "This is my sacrifice to you God!"

Because it doesn't make sense.
Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD. But Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.

It doesn't say that they were the best of his crops, whereas Abel's offering was of his firstborn, presumably without defect.
It was crops. Quality, especially in the ye old days, was different. Generally you have good crops, and you have bad crops. There was nothing there to say Cain brought God poor quality crops. But it didn't matter. God liked the blood offering better then that which Cain would have struggled to produce from the soil (since in ancient times crops could be a lot harder to get going the a flock of goats or sheep)
Jeremiah 31:3
The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying:“ Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with loving-kindness I have drawn you.
Wow, God truly does love sinners. God loves gays, lesbians, rapists, murderers, pedophiles, wife-beaters, kidnappers, terrorists, sodomites, convicts, serial killers, racists, thieves, bullies, adulterers, idolaters, and the like. But God hates their sinful actions. How could God love these people? The Bible says that God is Love. Love is a Person. If you feel that you have done something unforgivable and that God couldn't possibly love you, you are mistaken. God loves even you. But God's love is embodied and available only through His Son Jesus Christ. So to take advantage of God's love you must confess His Son as the Lord of your life. Who is Jesus Christ? He is the Way (to God), the Truth (that you are looking for), and the Life (your Source for living forever in God's presence). God will take care of you for eternity, and you know what: unlike people you have known, God will never fail you.
John 6:37
All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.
John 6:44-45
No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him ; and I will raise him up at the last day. 45 It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’Therefore everyone who has heard and learned[b] from the Father comes to Me.

I find it hilarious that you can compare Gays and Lesbians to serial killers and terrorists...

You cannot BE love, but have Hate at the same time....another contradiction gets added to the long list.....

Then his Love is limitted...and conditional...

God has failed throughout history in his inadequate effort to not only gather those onto his side, but "deliver those from evil" and the like.
Where was God during Hurricane Katrina? Where was God during the Holocaust, WWII, Hiroshima atomic bombing, World Trade Center, etc. ?
He has failed repeatedly....stop sending us empty promises with your imaginary God...

Cast out you say ? God would cast out those from Heaven who cannot follow his Bible word for word...hmm....is that why Heaven has Gates ???

I have learned and heard about our Holy Father all my Life, and I have yet to experience him...even when I've asked 10000000000000 times.....
I asked Christ to show himself to me....and he didn't answer....I guess you're one of the lucky ones 🙁
