Detroit better hope to keep being extremely lucky in terms of non-injuries, because their bench was already suspect minus Antonio but now they pretty much have no bench.

I really like Detroit, but I do wonder if you can go deep in the playoffs playing pretty much six guys...

i'm gonna invest in some dvds of the weekend when its done, found a site advertised on these very pages that offer you games on dvd... so i mite just get the last few allstar games and some of the ones i used to have.

one other thing, just watched the interviews with the allstar selections.. and jermaine o'neal seems like one of the nicest guys there

I'm really starting to think tanjot is either Vince Carter's mom, a Vince Carter groupie, or Vince Carter.

Where's the website?

Btw, I am pumped for the dunk contest tomorrow. Iggy said he has a bunch of things that haven't been done yet for us. He put on a great show tonight btw. He threw down that between the legs dunk like it was nothing. I would trade anybody on my Blazers for him.

y is no one talking about josh smith?? now its all about, either nate robinson or iguodala is going to win. dont count josh smith out for even a second.

Oh, I don't think anybody is counting anybody but Hakeem Warrick out. Its a matter of everybody has seen Josh dunk and knows he can, so now everybody is interested in what these 2 can do. Hopefully this year Smith does more than one original dunk. My only disappointment with him last year was that 3 of his 4 dunks were left handed replicas of what we've seen in the NBA already.

Yeah, Iggy was great. I believe he will win the Dunk Contest also. Hopefully he does something crazy.

The only people I would trade Iggy for are Wade or Lebron. 😛

No KG? No Dwight?

😆 You're joking, right?

Vince isn't even in the contest, so I hope you are joking.

myth, the site is underneath the posts on the right, the pontel link😄 i'm gonna invest some cash into that!

Iggy got robbed.

After the 'off the back of the backboard' dunk he should have automatically been the winner.

Nate's dunk over Spud was cool, though.
Nate's last dunk was cool, but it took him 14 trys.

And the one judge had a ten but switched it to a 9. We should have had another dunk off.

If Iggy had saved that off the back of the backboard dunk for last he would have walked away champ. Kobe was visibly pissed that Iggy didnt win, so its cool that they have that respect going on, seeing as they play so hard against one another. Nate's dunks were crazy but he was limited with what he could do because of his size. It was a nice touch to bring Spud out, how about his assist to Nate? Got it first time. Josh Smith was a real let down, Warrick was a non factor which wasnt surprising.

The judging was so bias. I bet it was Kenny Smith that had the ten up and then lowered it. He kept looking at what the other judges lifted before lifting his cards up. He even had a 9 in his hand and watched the others and switched to an 8 to have the tie breaker in the first place. He obviously wanted Nate to win. I'm actually pretty angry and he is the guy I'm most angry at. To be honest, Nate's last dunk in the dunk off was better than Iggy's last dunk because Andre ran out of ideas (although it really shouldn't have gone to that point but I was happy to see extra dunks). But it was the fact that a judge (90% sure it was Kenny Smith) changed his score to make sure Nate won.

Controversy aside, I enjoyed the contest because it was competitive for a change and we saw 3 really cool new dunks (in my mind). We saw Iggy's pass from Iverson, we saw Nate's over Spud, and we saw Iggy's bounce behind the back dunk. Nate's last attempts would have been good had he got them in less attempts. But yeah, still disappointed in the judging. Nate got too much help for being short.

i am embaressed to say what i said about josh smith, wtf was he thinking putting the tape 2 feet behind the free throw line to make a mark, and then jumping from the free throw line?? josh smith was a major dissapointment. nate robinson more than deserved to win but should not have won bcz iggy got a lower score than he "did", because one judge changed his card from a 10 to a 9. nate robinson did have A LOT of tries on his dunks, but they were all pretty amazing dunks. not NEARLY as worse as chris anderson taking half an hour without any commercial breaks to put down one crapass dunk. if he goes in it again, (which if im david stern i do not allow him to) i go to a commercial break after the first 5 attempts.

You dont read alot of sport news do you?

Chris Anderson has been banned from the NBA for drug use for 2 years. So he is not going to be in it for awhile.

No, I would have liked to see him in the contest

Still, Nate won and that's good enough for me

No reason to be embarrassed. We all know he's capable of throwing down some cool dunks. I'm still a little curious as to what he would have done had he gotten to the final round. The tape was a huge mistake. He obviously was putting it down for his own sake of knowing where his stride needs to be for the last step. His problem was he didn't think about the crowd confusing it for jumping from that far. I figured there was no way he was jumping that far but guessed he was going to bounce the ball off that spot and then try for a near free throw line alley-oop. Then he threw down one of the worse dunks of Carters. That was my criticism of him last year, 3 of his 4 dunks were copy-cat dunks. Although the alley-oop 360 over somebody would have been very nice. The hard part would be not kicking the guy below you because you can't just spread your legs because you are spinning.

As for Hakim Warrick, I actually liked his dunks and thought his scores were too low (although he didn't deserve to be in the finals so it worked out). The first dunk of his had good form and it was cool how he palmed the ball in front of himself at the beginning of his jump. The second one was more impressive than it seemed because he didn't just spread his legs to get his crotch over the guy, he leaned way forward to get his knees over the head of the guy sitting.

What does everybody think of the "best dunk" voting they had before the night? I personally thought the voting was ridiculous. The commentator kept emphasizing that it is best dunk, not best dunker but then start choosing dunks for other reasons himself. Like he chose Fred Jones' dunk over Richardson's because Richardson was already in the next round.

Here are my top five dunk contest dunks ever (no order):
J-Rich - 2 handed windmill reverse. Simply beautiful. He uses the windmill momentum to spin his body around late in the dunk. WOW!
J-Rich - Off the backboard between the legs (would have been sweet if Nate-Rob got it too).
Vince - Bounce between the legs.
Vince - 360 Windmill. Again, just a beautiful dunk.
Iguodala - Off the back of the backboard.

Alright, chalk up another spot in history for Lebron James. MVP! The whole game I was hoping for East to come back so he could steal the trophy from McGrady. Probably especially disappointing for McGrady due to the fact that a big part of the steal was LeBron's uncalled foul on McGrady. Plays like that are what separates a lot of fans. Half of the LeBron fans would be blind to the fact that there was a foul and they would deny it to their death. Then there are the types like me, who admit that there was a foul but accept the mishap in our favor and laugh and rub it in the faces of the opposition. 😈
