vince made plenty of shots to get us there in the first place, the raptors begin and end with vince carter as far as winning goes.. that shows how valuable a player he is...and its the same with new jersey, they begin and end with vince carter, hes playing good basketball, much more often than not they win, when hes not or he is not playing at all, they lose. i understand that you hate carter, and yes if i were in his place i would have had the guts to stand up to my mother and say, graduation can wait, whats most important to me now is my team...but unfortunately he didnt, and he wasted a lot of energy a lot the way. the point is, you either make it or you dont, more often than not you know vince will make the shot to win the game, to tie the game, and many clutch shots to bring his team back into the game, no matter how good or bad a team it is. im surprised at you laughing at my opinion of vince being a clutch player, even if you hate em you must admit he has been a clutch player throughout his career.

But he didnt make the one that counted. Who cares if he made one in the regular season. He didnt make the one that counted.

Jordan made the shots that counted.

oh kool... maybe its just me... but if smush has a good game.. the lakers do well... and have you seen flea from the chillis b;og on the nba blog squad? seeing as ur a laker fan you wanna check it out!

Interesting stat Royke is that when Smush scores 16+pts the Lakers are 14-5, so its fair to say that when Smush is playing well they are tough to beat. Smush has been a pleasant surprise this season, he has bounced around a few teams but this is his 1st full season so i kinda view him as a rookie. He has made some rookie mistakes but he has also grasped the triangle offence pretty well and he is getting more consistent with knocking down the open shot (plus its cool to have a PG who can dunk in traffic like Smush).
I do read Flea's blog when i can, the dude is a die hard Laker fan and a kick ass bass player. Pretty good combo in my book.
On the Wade debate, he has proved many times in his young career that he is a great player without Snaq. Snaq does make his teammates jobs easier because he demands so much attention, but both Wade and Kobe have proven that they are dominant even without the big guy.
My list of cluth players from years past would include, Jerry (logo) West, The Big O, Kareem, Bird, Havlichek, Magic, Jordan and Miller. Those guys wanted the ball and most of the time even though everyone knew who was getting the last shot they still made it. That to me is the definition of clutch play, alot of players just happen to get the ball and make a shot because they are wide open, but to have the play set up for you have the defense geared to stop you and still make the play is what being clutch is all about. Current clutch players would include Kobe, AI, T-Mac, Horry, Wade, Billups and (just for you tanjot) Carter. 😛

BAHAHAHAH!!!!.....wait a minute, let me repeat that.....BAHAHAHA!!! hysterical

Vince Carter is as much clutch as John Stocton is black.....has Carter ever made it past the 2nd round of the playoffs?...no, because to do such things you need to make what i call "real" clutch shots, sure he may have made some clutch shots during the regular season, or one or two in a playoff games, but he has also missed a shit load of those shots which you don't seem to eager to point out...what has Vince Carter ever done besides hit one clutch shot in the playoffs like 4 yrs ago, and a couple during in regular season, Kyle Korver has done that too, and i'm sure as hell not gonna call him clutch....oh Vince Carter won a dunk championship? so did Jason Richardson, Spudd Webb and Kobe among a ton of other players, but you dont see there fans or even Kool braggin about there players athleticism, and guess what, Jay Rich could probaly beat Carter in a dunkoff 😱...and if you would ask Shaq who he would rather be on a team with, Wade or Carter it would be Wade, i bet you could ask Jason Kidd the same question and he would say Wade, shit...Carter's momma would probaly pick Wade because Wade isn't a crybaby who is a cancer in a locker room, Wade doesn't cry about getting the basketball, and he doesn't cry about his numbers, and this is the topper, Wade makes sacrifices for his team which earns him more respect and admiration even though he has been in the league a less number of years,...Wade has taken his teams as far as Carter has taken his team and Wade has done it with far less talent

😆 😆 😂 😂 😆

Here is something fun. Here is some stats when a game is in the final 5 minutes and the score is within 5. There are 3 lists with a bunch of different catagories. Carter is only on one of them at #18. For PER ratings in the clutch, Vince Carter is not even on the list of top 50 players. This is last year, but still.http://www.82games.com/clutchplay3.htm

YES! My Blazers topped the Suns today. I love it. Too bad Cleveland and Dallas lost tonight.

Thats a great win by the Blazers there Myth, Randolf was huge in that one.
The Lakers came crashing back to earth with an uninspired effort against the Sonics, this year is anything but predictable.

the raps won... and the blazers??? that doesnt happen very often but i hope its here to stay😄 i've probably cursed them now😖

ok idiot, ill say it again, without vince we dont get there in the first place, which also means every single shot counts...every single clutch shot in the season and in the playoffs. what do u mean he didnt make the one that counted?? yes that was the biggest shot he has ever taken, but he took and made many huge shots to have the opportunity to shoot that one, get it through your head...every single shot counts..its how you progress...you cant just blame him for missing that one shot, and if he had missed all the other big shots against the knicks and in the regular season to get us there...like i said, we would not have the opportunity to have this argument. do u get it yet??

tanjot, if he hadnt gone to graduation day and missed that shot, i dont think we'd have a problem about it. his attitude is what pissed me off more about it. in the season? yeah maybe go get ur graduation.. in teh playoffs possibly to the eastern finals??? no way. team is more important. its only a bit of paper, you've still got your degree.

again, WOW. this is one of those posts i look at and laugh...ur not including everything, so y ru telling me to?? vince didnt have the talented supporting cast on his team in his early years that wade does his...wade has shaq, thats enough said already...and he has a great veteran and a former defensive player of the year in gary payton to teach him, who did vince have in his early years? antonio davis? michael curry? who?? i want to see you answer that one. and did you forget the shot he made against miami last year in the "PLAYOFFS" at the BUZZER?? well i dont know about you, but i know thats clutch. he made a 3 pointer at the buzzer to beat his former team by 1 point...you dont think thats clutch?? well then, you keep saying whatever the **** you wanna say...i understand that half the world hates vince, i thought only canada hated him, or maybe its just the people in these threads, either way...i want you to explain to me y you think he is a crybaby or whatever you say he is, he has not gone down with any serious injuries after his trade, and when he has gotten injured he has ALWAYS made a strong attempt to play through them.

he may be labelled as a cry baby fpr the way he left the raptors. he played pretty crap while in his last few months... then a rebirth in new jersey??? coincidence???? maybe... maybe not. he coulda at least played for the raps while he wore the uniform

i understand that...but now is the time to stop calling him a whiner and a crybaby because he is not, i do and do not respect what he did...he did and did not have a reason to do what he did.

and hey, even in his worst season as a raptor. i remember the second game of the season against portland where he hit a clutch shot to seal the deal...u should remember that one darth royke..a 3 point fadeaway with 10 seconds left in the game with two defenders in his face to put the raps up by 3.

i say the same, and i also put that blame on him, but all i want is that the haters admit that without him we dont get there in the first place...not saying it nearly as much to you as i am to "u know who" in my previous post. read those previous two posts, then get back to me.

Why do the NBA players half-ass it at the Olympics?

I guess 1992 will never repeat itself....

Nobody denies that. They just feel he is not AS GOOD as YOU think he is.

Exactly. Who cares if you GOT there. What matters is if you WIN it all. Jordan could have won a lot of games with clutch shots in the regular season, but if he doesn't make that one shot we all remeber, nobody would think Jordan is as good as he is. What makes the player is what he does in the finals and playoffs, not the regualr season. Plus, that shot that he made against the Heat in the playoffs was clutch. But does it make him great? No. You know why? Because it was in the first round of the playoffs, and they still ended up LOSING the game. Great players find a way to win the game.

Also, Wade was ranked 4th in and all around clutch player, and first in defensive clutch player.

I really agree with what this guy wrote to ESPN's Daily Dime:

"Steve Nash for MVP: You say the game against the Spurs drove home the point? How so? The Suns were missing more than Nash, they were missing several others including Barbosa. In the previous two or three games, Barbosa outplayed Nash in leading the Suns back from deficits to wins. He is quicker and plays much better D. The Spurs scored 117 points. If Nash had played they may have scored 135 the way they were shooting.

If Marion was out and Nash was in the result would have been the same. This was the Spurs not Seattle. The same Spurs that beat the Suns with Nash 4-1 in last year's playoffs. I like Nash, and his is an obvious media darling, but you guys are going way overboard with the credit you give him. He is part of a well put together team. Give the coach his due. And if victories are your measuring stick, then Tony Parker should be ahead of Nash, the league leader in turnovers. Kobe is the obvious choice. Anything else is uncivilized."

Although with Kobe's and the Laker's diminishing play after January, I am thinking more and more about Dirk as league MVP.

Dude, you have something against Steve Nash.
