ah fair enough... never knew he'd tried coaching. just thought he mite at some point. i'd love to know wat sabonis is up2 these days. hes a legend to me

just been looking actually....

In 2003, Sabonis returned to Lithuania and bought a major stake in his old club Žalgiris. He also played for Žalgiris in the 2003-04 season, winning the MVP award in both the regular-season and Top 16 phases of the Euroleague and being named to the All-Euroleague team. He retired as a player after the 2004-05 season.

Brian Meehan, a columnist for The Oregonian, followed Sabonis' career over the course of decades. Recalling the 1988 Olympics, when Sabonis' Soviet team beat a United States team with the likes of David Robinson, Meehan notes one play when a healthy Sabonis reacted to a teammate's missed shot: Sabonis slashed towards the rim, jumped over Robinson, and slammed the ball home.

see... a legend 😉 on his nba.com player profile he bears a striking resemblance to goodfellas ray liotta 😕

it would have been much more fun to see phoenix in the finals instead of dallas because phoenix is a great fast break team and more enjoyable to watch than the mavericks. as for the heat and pistons....i wanted detroit to go to the finals, but that also went the wrong way. i say this series is all dependent on role players. if nash gets his jumpshot going and the role players for phoenix gets the job done, i say its phoenix in 6 or 7. if not...miami in 6 or 7.

HOORAY!

Dallas vs Miami 😄

Now, I'm going to be happy no matter what the outcome so I just hoping for a 7 game series. I'm pretty indecisive on who wins but I think I'm barely leaning towards Dallas (although I'm predicting Heat in 6 or 7).

Ahh...that's better.

whats that supposed to mean???

Well, we're officially in the finals and it's against Miami. This could end up being either extra sweet or bitter for me depending on the outcome. I'll definitely be at my local sports bar with my #4 Finley Mavs jersey. I know a tad bit dated but I'm glad I kept it, it will shows my solidarity not only for the team but for Findog who unfortunately couldn't be part of this championship run. Hopefully I won't get my ass kicked in the process but who knows.

Anyway, back to the game, even though we won, that still doesn't excuse the poor officiating once again in this game. Just too many foul calls which completely took both teams out of their rhythm for awhile. I don't understand how they could call the rest of the series fairly open and then call this game so ridiculously tight. Let's hope the officiating is better for the finals, I'm still expecting Shaq to get every call tho.

Btw, interesting note when watching the game tonight, some fireworks started goin off right here where I live and I mean a lot it was like a 4th of july celebration or something just outta no where. It was crazy I really wasn't expecting that tonight.

I agree I like seeing 2 new fresh teams in the Final, I really didn't wanna see another recylced Pistons vs Spurs series.

I did damnit.....I'm rooted fot the Mavs all the way against the Heat, I like Dallas better and I really can't stand Miami's players other than Wade....and I don't like How Pat Riley Pushed Ron Jeremy err Jeff Van Gundy out of the Coaching job....I'm thinking Mavs take this in 6, they have a deeper bench, I think Avery can outcoach Riley, and they have a better starting 5, not to mention they have the best offense and can play great defense it they apply themselve to it, and I'm gonna enjoy watching Dirk lightup Miami's whole frontcourt

Yes me too, that is why I was rooting against the Spurs and Pistons.

Anyway, I would not be a Heat fan if it weren't for Wade. Whatever team Wade is on, is automatically my 2nd favorite team. So GO HEAT!!!!!!

Stan 😉

i did say mavs from the start.... loving the drika dirka dirka!!!!!! should be a great series... good to see j-will play well too, when he plays like that hes one of the top 5 pg's in the league... he doesnt play like that enough though! shaqs playing like hes 25, which is scarey for the mavs... its good to see them do well with dirk though. they were infatuated about trying to find a karl malone player for a number of years and finally gave up on it and went german. finals time!

oh yeah... i was thinking next year of visiting the states, (plus going to toronto to see the raptors) and was thinkin is there a way some of us could meet up? maybe go check out a game even?

...Was that a joke?

If Shaq plays like he did in game 6 the Mavs gonna be in trouble.
If Dirk continues with his play the same can be said about the Heat.
I see this going 7 but the X-factor in this whole series is Josh howard if he plays good the Mavs are unbeatable.

I have a good felling that this series is going to be awesome. I'm picking the Heat in six mostly because the combination of Shaq and Wade will be too much for Dallas but I expect this series to be very, very close.

The series needs to start already. 5 days is too long!

I was expecting someone to respond like this...No its not a joke, Riley is hardley the coach he was in the 80s, he is waaaaay past his prime, he couldn't even get the heat off the ground in Wades 1st year which is why he stepped down, and gave Van Gundy the job who actually showed Riley up at the position, Avery outcoached Popavich, and today's era, I'll take Pop over Riley

Not true. Riley stepped down before Wade played his first NBA game.
