Miles' injury/surgery is bad for one reason (btw, they said surgery was almost guaranteed about 3 months ago so this isn't surprising news). It postpones a possible trade of Miles. Miles is crap. Most of his value comes from "potential talent" that hasn't developed and most likely won't develope because of his attitude. Don't get me wrong, he is still pretty talented, but he is just about the worst person you can have in the locker room. I suspect that the Blazer's terrible record last year is much in part because of Miles. Miles pretty much broke Mo Cheeks down and got the whole team into a depressed slump. He also refused to listen to Nate Mac once the season started badly last year. The attitude during games and in the locker room was contagious, mostly due to Miles. I pray for the day he is no longer a Blazer and this injury just delays possible trades 🙁As a side note, Miles once made it a goal to make as many highlight reals as possible to get endorsement contracts. The result was more bricked dunks than I've seen anybody do in my life.
I wasn't bringing up the fact that he was going to have surgery. I was emphasizing that he'll miss the entire season.
Anyway, I'm not going to sit here and pretend I know a lot about Darius Miles personally because I don't. However, what I do know is that he's a great defender and an athletic big man, which the Nets have been trying to get for ages. The Nets are one of the weakest teams when it comes to the inside. Hence, Jason Collins is a starter, and pretty much the only team in the world that would start him is indeed the Nets, because how much strength do they have in the interior? You got it, NONE, NADA, ZIPPO. Jason Kidd is the Nets' leading rebounder. Sort of proves how weak the frontcourt is.
If given the option for Miles in a trade for Collins, I would say "YES" before I had time to think about it. Seriously. I know what you mean when you say those things about Miles. I've known a lot of people with that kind of selfish attitude. However, there comes to a point where a player (Jason Collins) sucks so much that I don't care about attitude. Just bring me anyone. ANYONE. Collins is one of those players where when he's on the floor, the team's production goes down like -16 points, and when he's on the bench, the team goes up +12. Seriously, most NBA players are known to be at least OK at something. This guy, he's the worst at EVERYTHING. If the Nets took him out and played 4 against 5, they'd still be better. I'm amazed he's able to even run up the floor in his snail pace without having a heart attack.
And about Miles' attitude. It may just be his surroundings. If he came to the Nets, maybe he would be more disciplined and focused, with the excitment of going to the playoffs. And I KNOW he wouldn't slack off and foolishly try to make highlight reels while undermining the Nets' opportunity to succeed around J-Kidd and live to tell the tale. It would be a total disrespect to J-Kidd's hardwork, perserverance, and patience. If he were to do such a thing, he could kiss his sorry ass good-bye. 😄

Miles doesnt really provide much of anything on the interior. Dude averages 5 boards a game, for a player that gifted thats pretty low. I know it isnt a realistic trade but getting Miles for Collins would help the Nets frontcourt at all imo.
I got confused by that last sentence. He would help their frontcourt, or he wouldn't AT ALL.

Thats how I feel about Miles. I would trade him for nothing. The talent Miles has doesn't make up for how much he makes the team as a whole play like crap.
Either way, I would trade just about anyone for Collins, because Collins is the type of guy who always misses crucial free throws, always turns it over with his butter fingers at the wrong time, misses shots when his teams needs him (he is a decent shooter for a big man), and Shaq is just about the only person he can defend SOMETIMES, because Shaq is more muscle than speed. Most of the time though, Shaq just muscles right through him. And I have a lot more...Collins obviously can't dribble, so he messes up the offense often. When he gets a pass, he holds it and doesn't know what to do with it. If he can't find someone and he's trapped, he doesn't have the brain to call a time-out, so either someone else has to call time-out, he turns it over, he travels, or by luck he throws it in the air and some else saves it from going out of bounds. During these moments, he wastes like 8 seconds off the shot clock. Oh yeah, and did I mention he's slower than a sloth? More often than not, he's too slow to get back on defense, so the Nets always have a disadvantage when the opponent is on a fast break or even a set half-court play. And he also doesn't understand the concept of "help" defense, where if J-Kidd can't handle Dwyane Wade for a given play, it's over when Collins is on the floor. He either forgets to or isn't fast enough to rotate and cover him. Never. So, in conclusion, it's pretty obvious how I feel about him and how not having him at all would be better.
Speaking of Miles and Collins, I cannot believe the Nets just lossed by 18 at home to Portland. 8 points in the 1st quarter? What the hell is going on? I don't care if RJ's in the lineup or not, if you're on your home court, you better make the other team earn everything they get. It's not the loss that bothers me, it's the blowout. No effort whatsoever. I'm sure Collins had the defensive assignment against Randolph. And apparently Randolph had no resistence.

Randolph is schooling anyone thats guarding him at the moment, but you seem like you have some issues to work through with Collins so i'll let you blame him and get it out of your system.😄
😂 Believe me man, all Nets fans are pissed with Collins. And how he has the starting roll over Cliff when Cliff is a better player in every single aspect, I seriously don't know. That's why I sometimes second guess Lawrence Frank's methods, despite the fact that I think he's one of the best and most underrated coaches in the league.
Well, based on what you said, this is what I would do. Trade Miles for Collins and bench Collins. Miles can f*ck up a team even when he isn't in. Collins is just terrible when he is in. I'd then save Collins until his contract expires and in the mean time, I'd only put him in against Shaq to see if it is one of the occasional times he can guard him. See, with Collins, you can at least bench him. With Miles, benching him would probably make matters worse.

I'd guess that'd work, but as the saying goes, seeing is believing. I don't know Miles that well; you do. From the outside, Miles looks like a plus for the Nets, at least a much bigger plus than Collins. If he were to come and screw up, I'd be convinced that he's a fraud. But until then, because I have painfully watched Collins' poor play for the last 3 years (his first 3 years as a Net were disguised because the Nets were a really good team back then), I still say trade anyone for Collins. It's not that I don't believe you, but seeing is believing, and in my perspective, nobody knows if Miles would be as much of an ass in Jersey as in Portland.
Lakers are 7-3!
But Im still not liking Kwame, I think for me its bad timing because for the past few games I havent started watching until the 2nd quarter. And in the time I was watching he sucks ballzis. Yeah we should have him int here because he has a big body but other than that he's just taking minutes away from Bynum, and Im not liking it. He cant score for jack, he's a TFN(tall for nothing). I like Greg Anthony's comment about everyone forgetting he was the #1 pick then Tim Legler coming back in a joking way saying he(Brown) forgot he was the #1 pick. I laughed my ass off.
Anyways to be frank I think we should only use him as a utility player and only bring him in when we need a big body. Like against the Spurs or Rockets. But that's just my opinion I know that cant happen.
Evo, Bynum isnt ready to play big minutes yet. He doesnt have the stamina, but give him a year or two and he'll be good for 35 to 40 mins. Next center in line has to be Kwame, its either him or Brian Cook (trust me you dont want that). Kwame is still injured but is playing through it, he doesnt have many post moves to start with and with his injured shoulder his shooting touch is even worse. I actually like the way he is playing at the moment, not worrying about scoring and just grabbing boards and playing strong D (thats all we need from him now). Mihm is out for the year (another ankle surgery) and Ronny Turiaf is on the injured list to (hip problem) so we are not as deep as we should be in the frontcourt. Kwame and Bynum could be a nice rotation at center if they play to their strengths.
