All I have to say is why Melo? Why?
Speaking of stupid coaching. The other day I was watching the Kings play when I realized Adelman wasn't on the sidelines. I know he wasn't there anymore but I dunno it just hit me not seeing him there. I was so use to him being the coach of the Kings. So anyway, I started to compose a list of coaches good and bad. Here is my abbreviated list of good coaches in recent memory...
The A List or I guess you could call it the A-Team - These are all good coaches who have at least won a championship:
Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, Chuck Daly, Larry Brown, Jerry Sloan<- I know technically he doesn't belong here but he did come very close twice and he's a very good coach IMO.
The B list or the second rate team- These are coaches who have done a decent job but never won a championship and in some cases didn't even come close:
George Karl, Mike Dunleavy Rick Adelman, Flip Saunders
The C list - These coaches were so bad that they were never offered a head coaching job again:
Del Harris, Alvin Gentry, PJ Carlesimo
Not sure where to place Donnie Nelson. 2nd most winningest coach behind Lenny Wilkins but never won a championship. Technically I guess he belongs in the B list not to mention the fact that Avery did a better job than him with the Mavs his last season.
Btw, as you all prob already know the league will switch to the old ball on New Years day. My question is why did they change it to begin with and why can't Stern just admit that he made a stupid mistake!? Just say my bad dawg, I f*cked up, that's all.
Sloan definetly belongs on the A-list, so does Popavich, but Sloan is the most underrated coach ever, how he has never won coach of the year baffles me.
New York, and Denver are both idoits, espicially Anthony throwing that cheap shot, yea, real tough blindsiding a guy whiles hes being held, what a gangsta.

Yeah, that was a pretty cheap thing for Melo to do. Mardy Collins made a hard foul to prevent the basket. It was unecessary contact, and he deserved the ejection, but seriously, don't punch the guy in the face and walk away. I mean, he's a rookie, cut him a break.

BTW, Avery Johnson wasn't mentioned in your coach lists. I'd put him in the B list, but only time and the Finals so far has kept him out of the A list.
As for the brawl, I loved every second of it. I learned about it through the local sports page with a pic of a hand on Melo's throat. I have hated that b!tch since the 2004 summer and this further shows that he is still a punk at heart and has not changed like he has been acting. Nate Robinson is also a little b!tch. He caused the 1st outburst in the fight with a push before Melo restarted the shit when he punched Collins. I'm just happy these two teams that I hate were the ones involved. Hopefully the 15 games out will screw Melo out of the all-star game again 😆
I mean not being able to coach the Mavericks back into the series after game 3's disappointment. By time, I mean lack of experience and times proving himself in different situations. Its hard to tell how much of the success can be attributed to Avery since it was only one year. A great coach (such as Sloan) shows that they can get the most from their players every year. Avery hasn't proven he can do that yet, but so far still looks great as a coach.

Why do you hate Melo so much? Just curious. Anyway, I always see the fights live. I saw the Palace brawl live, and now this. It was really shocking.
The Nuggets are simply screwed now. They lost Melo and J.R. for extended periods of time. Good job, George Karl.

When Carmelo came into the league, he had this swagger about him like he thought he was a gangster. I didn't hate him right off the back because of this, but I wasn't terribly fond of him either. Then following his rookie year, he was by far the most disrespectful player on the Olympic team. Each game team USA lost, everybody was disappointed but still congratualated the opposing team since the NBA players are ambassadors to the sport. Melo would rip his jersey off and leave imidiately. Even Marbury, who I've never been a fan of had to tell Melo to show some class. Melo also complained about his playing time, even when he was getting as much time, if not more, than LeBron was under Larry Brown. That followed with him hanging out with drug dealers that want to shoot people who rat them out to the cops. Those just helped cement my opinion that Melo was a thug. Now he sucker punches a rookie and runs away. I simply don't see how anybody likes the guy with the exception of respecting his game.
