I understand that fans want Shaq and voted him in, but what I don't understand is why Bill Walton, who is suppose to be an NBA analyst, also said Shaq would be his choice for center in the east this season. I know Bill is dumb, but that has got to be one of the dumbest opinions from an NBA analyst ever.
On a side note, I heard there is a very good chance Nowitzki will start in place of Yao.

Yea, that is dumb, but I don't think any of us are suprised that he said that, last year that had an NBA anaylst who would always call Bill out on that type of stuff, I haven't seen him this year tho, I think they replaced him with Jon Barry.
You'd hope they replace Yao with Nowitzki. They should stop with the fans voting all ready. I'd rather see the more deserving players start, than the fan favorites, or have the coaches decide the starting 5 and the fans decide the rest of the team, mix it up.
I also heard about trade talks about Garnett and Chicago. If they can get Garnett, and keep Wallace, Hinrick, and Gordon, that's a lineup that no one is going to want to play.
Yao is the best center in the west.
That is why he is starting.
And no other center should be in his place.
They shouldn't stop the fans from voting either. Don't turn it into the MVP award race, where it is all politics. I would rather it be a popularity contest than the BS sports writers voting.
Same with the coaches.

True, except Yao is injured and somebody else has to be in his place.
And I personally would say coaches should decide the starters. They do a good job with the bench, I'm sure they would be smart enough to do a good job with the starters.

You know I didn't mention anything about sport writers right? I didn't say have the sports writers decide, strictly have the coaches pick there starting 5, and the rest of the players be picked by fans, that way you wouldn't have any political intereference, and the players that actually deserve to start in the Allstar game would. I could use the same argument you used for Yao about Shaq, Shaq still maybe the best center in the East(when he's healthy), but you can't honestly tell me he deserves to start in the Allstar game this year.

Which is why I said "same with coaches".
What makes you think that there vote would be any different from the fans or sports writers? Wont they be bias towards their own players?

Not likely, they're not biased towards there own players when they pick the bench of the Allstars.

I echo the same sentiments about All-Star voting being a joke. They should let the coaches have some say in who starts but at the same time you just can't take the fans out of it completely. We shouldn't allow stupid fans to ruin it for the rest of us. I think they should have like an equally weighted system where both the fans and coaches get an equal vote for who starts, kinda like a check balance, so we don't have something riDirkulous like Shaq starting after being injured for almost the whole 1st half of the season.
On a separate note, for those who might be wondering, I'm still kicking ass in both my fantasy leagues! 💃 Strangely enough Melo's absence didn't really hurt me at all and now that he's back it can only get better 😈
I really hope to see more of you regulars here in the KMC league next season. I'm kinda disappointed that I haven't been able to compete and match wits with some of you.
Oh yeah that reminds me, how bad is Walton's injury? Is he expected to miss some games because of it? And when is Kwame coming back and when he does come back will that push Bynum to the bench?
There are people who deserved to get in that didn't. There should be absolutely no complaining over who is starting and who is not. You will be there and you will play.
Probably get more playing time than Tmac because of his back issues and the unimportance of this game.
I couldn't care less if Nash didn't get that start, and he probably wont ever get the start anymore, Kobe, Tmac, and Iverson will always get the start over him.
