God I miss the old NBA on NBC jingle. I'm not a John Tesh fan at all but I have to admit that was just pure genius.
ESPN should have bought out the NBA on NBC theme when they got the NBA. That music always made the game seem more important than it really was.

And on a Bball note the Twolves finally ended the Suns streak, bastards. I've noticed with all the Suns/Mavs hype that the Spurs haven't really been mentioned, there sort of flying under the radar which could make them all the more dangerous.

Anyway, makes me wish Garnett was suspended about 5 games ago to end the Suns streak earlier. By the way, did anybody else notice how easy the Suns schedule has been for most of this streak? They didn't go against a single elite team (which the Suns have a terrible record against Spurs, Mavs, Lakers, and Utah). The most impressive teams that they beat were the Wizards and Houston (doing well, but still without Yao no less). A quick glance at their schedule may make one think that they went against some other tough teams, but not really if you exam those teams:
Suns beat Cavs twice: Usually viewed as a good team, but they have been seriously struggling as a team. Its not like the Suns were up against them while they are hot. (as for the 2nd game, it may or may not have made a difference, but LeBron is having toe problems that make him day to day)
Detroit was without Billups and this was pre-Webber giving them new confidence.
Chicago was without Hinrich, a key to the Bulls success.
Miami, well, I don't need to explain here. Everybody knows...
Magic was a force a bit ago, but they have been seriously slumping. Haven't they lost 9 of 10?
Minnesota the 1st time, KG was suspended, what luck for the Suns.
Bucks, ok, they are easy, but lets just make the easy easier by taking out Redd.
On top of that, every team has to have back to backs, but during this stretch, the only back to backs the Suns faced were New York(X2), Toronto, and Minnesota (where they lost).
Am I done with why the Suns are currently overrated? NO!
Look at the first 15 game streak they had. The only real quality team in that streak was the Rockets (actually with both Yao and T-Mac for once) and maybe the Magic (I can't remember how they were doing at the time).
But the only back to backs they had to play during that stretch were against Boston and Orlando (Dr. Jeckel or Mr Hyde? As I said, I can't remember how they were doing at the time).
In other words, the Suns can beat all the lesser teams all they want, but come playoff time, they actually have to play those hard teams they can't beat.
One last thing to chew on:
Dallas and Phoenix are tied at 36-9. However, Dallas has a 24-6 record against the Western Conference while Phoenix has a 16-8 record. Phoenix has 28 more Western Conference games, including 17 games in a row at the end of the season (try a 17 game streak there). Dallas only has 22 left.
I know this is going to be very repetitive, but I just e-mailed the following to ESPN.com's Daily Dime Mailbag:
What is the biggest disappointment of the season? The fact that most fans following the NBA don't know the following information. The Suns' streaks are overrated.For starting background, I'd like to point out that the Mavericks and the Suns are 24-6 and 16-8 against the Western Conference, respectively. That leaves 22 games against the West for the Mavs and 28 left for the Suns.
Now, on to the streaks themselves. In the 17 game streak, only the Wizards and the Rockets should have been real threats to their streak. No Mavs, Spurs, Lakers, or Jazz anywhere in those streaks (or for the season for that matter). A quick glance at the schedule suggests that the Suns faced other hard teams, but not if you really examine the teams. The Cavs should have been a threat, but lately, they haven't really been too much of a threat to anybody. I attended their game in Portland and trust me, the Cavs are playing ugly ball right now. As for the other teams that could be considered upper level teams: Detroit was without Billups, KG was suspended his first game during the streak, Hinrich was out for the Bulls, and the Magic are in a bad slump (2-8 in last 10). Even the easy got easier with Redd out for the Bucks. In addition to all that, look at the back to backs the Suns faced. Every team has to battle through back-to-back games (win streak killers), but the Suns just got the luck of the draw so far. The only teams they had to battle on night 2 of those dreaded back-to-backs were the Knicks (2 times), Toronto, and last nights game against 'Sota.

Their back-to-backs during streaks have included Memphis(W), Washington(W)(2nd back-to-back in 5 days), Hornets(W), Hornets again(W), Denver(W), Spurs(W), and Portland(W).
In conclusion, the Suns' have done little more than walk all over teams they should beat, but have yet to prove that they are quite as good as many believe them to be. We will ultimately have to wait until the playoffs for the true test of greatness, but until then, I'm looking forward to watching the Suns face a harder schedule this second half of the season. As one last little side note, the Suns end the season with 17 games in a row against Western Conference teams. Lets see them win 17 in a row then.

You lost me, you did a search for what? No, I meant "Everybody be more like Chris", it's a line from the clip RZA was talking about that I posted on the last page, Thats the show that I love, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia is what its called.
You have some valid points about the Suns win streak, but a 17 win streak is still impressive in the NBA, granted it's not as impressive as winning 17 straight in the Western conference, but you can't blame Phoenix for beating teams that are injured or missing key players due to suspensions. Phoenix still may have had a chance to win that Twolves game, but Antoine put Nash on the bench pretty much the entire 4th quater to give him rest, but I see you're point, and at the end of the season I doubt Phoenix will take 17 straight against the West, but they know the'yre going to have to play there asses off to get one of the top 2 seeds in the West that late in the season.

I'm glad its a given to you, but many people (I'm not talking about here, but everywhere) see the streak and pay no mind to the teams that were actually played.

Yeah, I don't want the Blazers to do that. Pau is a one time all-star and will maybe squeeze one or two more in if he is lucky, but Rodriguez and Aldridge both could be all-stars in the future. I'd rather see the Blazer rookie trio held together for a bit to see where it goes. Aldridge was a #2 pick for a reason while Rodriguez may become the closest thing to Steve Nash. He's got great offensive court awareness, is fast, and a great passer. I don't know if you ever watched him, but the Blazer offense is beautiful when he is on the court. Its great to see the Blazers throw 3 rookies in at the same time (not garbage time might I add).

I don't know, I can't really comment and say if it would be a fair trade because they don't show the Blazers on a national level, and haven't seen any of there games. But I do think Pau is more than a one-time all-star, and has the potential to be a star, and has shown flashes of it when healthy, I think him staying healthy would be the main concern for Portland. And if I had to guess the next Steve Nash I would predict it to be Adam Graves out of Butler.

Nah, TO is never going to give up Bosh. Too good of person, and too good of player. He is still a very young guy.
