Agree, but put Lebron where Yao is since Yao is injured. And different order.

Yea, I'm not going to argue that, but I wanted to have more than one big man on the list, and like RZA said, he was having his best season, and was the most dominant at that position, but noone is going to argue if you replace him with Lebron

I don't think you can say Billups is playing better just because Detroit played poorly without him. They probably would've played just as bad without Rip. And injury is not an excuse for being in the All-star game. I see that Rip is playing better than he did last season, whereas, not so much for Billups. Just saying from what I've seen from them so far. it's fine if you see it differently.

You can't say they probally would have played just as bad w/o Rip. Thats just an assumption, because the fact is they did play bad w/o Billups, and that wasn't a coicidence. When Rip is off the floor, Detroit loses a scorer, but when Billups is off the floor, Detroit loses a scorer, clutch shooter, and key distributor. Rip maybe averaging two more pts than last year, but Billups is still the one hitting bigger shots, getting more teamates involved, and putting up points in the process. Of course I'm going to see it differently, I'm a Pistons fan, and any Pistons fan will say that Billups deserves to be in that game more than Rip, but that doesn't mean Rip doesn't deserve to be in that game, because he does.

My top five:

1. Wade
2. Nash
3. Dirk
4. Duncan
5. tie between Lebron and Kobe

You can't assume that Billups would be a bigger loss than Rip, because Rip hasn't been out yet. Billups may be a better all around player according to what you say, but that doesn't necessarily translate to a better situation or more wins when Rip goes out than when Billups goes out. For example, when Krstic went out for the Nets, everyone thought they were going to go south. But Mikki Moore came in and played even better than Krstic, which has led so far to more wins. The Pistons may have played worse when Billups got injured than when he was healthy, but that doesn't automatically mean Rip didn't play great without him. And saying Billups hits bigger shots is a vague statement. Clutch or buzzer beating shots aren't necessarily bigger than regular ones that are taken in the 4th quarter or even earlier. A big shot can even be considered one that is taken in the first half, but more importantly, stops the opponent's run and starts a big run of its own. I see Rip making these shots all the time, and a few of them compiled together may be just as important as one big clutch shot that Billups makes.

There is a reason why we call Chauncey Mr. Big Shot in Detroit. From according to what I say, and from what I've watched(which I gurantee is more Piston games than yourself) yes, Billups better all around play does allow a better oppuritinity for Detroit to win than Rip's game. When Billups was out Detriot was sucking ass and even though Rip played well, he never played well enough to carry Detriot to any wins which is what you claimed "Rip has been carry the Pistons all season." He couldn't even carry them for a month.

How many Pistons games have you seen this year? Because if you see Rip making all these so called "big shots" than you must change the channel everytime Billups hits a big shot, and that would mean you change the channel alot. Because you're right, a big shot isn't necassirly a buzzer beater, it can be one that stops an opponents run, or starts a run for your team, which Billups has been doing for the past 5 or 6 years in Detroit, everytime we need a big shot Billups hits one, every time we need to start a run, Billups picks up the offense, everytime we need to end a big run, Billups has the ability and does draw fouls, hits a jumper, or takes it to the hole, we need a big 3, we go to Billups as option 1, like I said, his nickname isn't Mr. Big Shot for nothing, and you throw that in there with with his abillity to setup teammates, make GW shots and you have an All Star. Just because Rip is averaging 4 more pts than Billups doesn't mean he deserves it more, if thats the case, than Ray Allen deserves to be an AllStar more than Steve Nash.

Now, I'm not the biggest Nets fan in the world, and I haven't been paying attention to them alot, but last time I seen them play w/o Kristic (just last week against Detroit), they got there ass stomped, and when they had Kristic in the past they were fighting for a top seed in the East, and actually could complete with Detroit. Now that doesn't mean I'm right about the Nets being better with Kristic in the lineup, because you've probally seen alot more Nets game than me, and would know more about that team than me, but do you see how much of a misconception can be made from just watching a few games.

Please don't take my quotes out of context. I didn't mean Rip was literally doing all the work by himself. I just meant that he was a great contributor, and that he made plays when his team needed him to, wheras, in the games I've seen, Billups' shooting % has gone down and his defense hasn't been as solid as in previous years. I may be wrong overall, but this is from the games I've seen, and no I didn't flip channels when Billups played. Some of the games I've seen were without Billups. But in those games, I saw Rip play really well, and not just in scoring, but other areas as well (i.e. assists, steals). But since I haven't seen Billups play much this season, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and just go with what you have to say. I was simply saying that from what I saw, Rip deserved the All-star spot more, partially because Billups has been injured, and I already said injuries aren't an excuse in All-star games. If you don't play much during the season, you shouldn't be in the game. Or else Michael Redd would have been selected. Shaq is pretty much the only exception. Though of course Billups wasn't injured nearly as longas Shaq.

As for the Nets, they were 11-16 when Krstic went down. 13 games later, they were 20-20, when RJ went out. Now they're 22-25. So, it pretty much explains my point.

That's all I was asking for, benefit of the doubt.

Billups didn't really miss that many games btw. I'm pretty sure has played in around the same number of games as Kobe, the only difference is that Kobe was hurt during the beginning of season, while Billups injury is the most recent of any deserving All Stars, and that shouldn't be held against him.

Did anyone else hear about the footrace that is suppose to happen at All Star weekend. It's suppose to be NBA Official Dick Bevatta against Charles Barkley. I believe they are racing the length of the court, and just in case any one is wondering, this is what the official looks like.

Dick would fall apart.

He runs a ton. I actually think he may win.

Anyway, dunk contest:
Dwight Howard
Gerald Green
Nate Robinson
Tyrus Thomas

Two big guys? This will make for a lame dunk contest. It will most likely be Nate vs Green in the finals. Hopefully Howard and Thomas can pull out something cool, but I'm afraid they will rely to much on power rather than finesse. However, Dwight is rumored to be able to grab the top of the backboard. If he could incorporate that into his dunks, he has a chance. Remember the old school dunks where a player grabs the rim, swings and then finishes on the other side? Imagine Dwight doing that with the top of the back board. That could take the cake.

The dunk contest is has been lame for the past 5 or 6 years.. I'd rather watch the Barkley/Bevatta race, 3pt contest, or skills competetion than watch someone try a dunk that takes 15 attempts to pull off.

YAY! They fixed that problem! 2 minutes to complete a dunk! YAY!

I don't think Nate will win this year, because everyone gave him so much support last year when he really didn't deserve to win it. This year, since he's won it already, will be different. He won't be cut as much slack this year. He won't get 10's across if he misses 35 dunk attempts like he did last year. Cough...Kenny Smith.

I say Green will take it. He's a pretty sick dunker.

Hopefully, Kenny Smith won't be judging it this year. He sure the hell shouldn't be after that lame ass judging he did last year. I still have my doubts about the dunk contest, but I'm hoping Dwight Howard will win it, and that will aspire more big names to the event. Lead us back to the promise land Dhow!!!

I haven't seen much of Tyrus Thomas this year. Is he a good dunker?

Yea, actually he is, he is really athletetic, long, and lean. I've seen him pull of a couple sweet dunks in the begging of the year.

**** Josh Smith aint in it!?!?!

Wow and look at the rest, this is going to suck balls. I hope Nate don't win it.

This year is really going to suck.

It seems as though they have this tradition where if the defending champion does not win, then he doesn't come back the next year. It's probably just my imagination.

I miss those days when they had 6 dunkers instead of 4. It made it a lot more competitive.

IMO, the last good dunk contest was when Desmond Mason and Jason Richardson squared up and put on a highlight reel. Two beastly dunkers right there.

Yeah, that was cool.

I've hated Kenny ever since that judging performance. I lost a lot of respect for him.

Anywho, the judges are pretty impressive this year: Jordan, Wilkins, Dr. J, Kobe, and Vince.
