Salary wise, I don't see how Gooden could be in the deal. He makes $6.6 million. Kidd makes $18 million. That makes for a lot more Cavs would have to give up:

Hughes: $13.3mil
Big Z: $9.4mil
Snow: $6mil
Marshall: $5.6mil
D. Jones: $3.4mil
Pollard: $2.2mil
Newble: $3mil
Most others have contracts so tiny that they don't make up for much of the contract differences.

Maybe: Gooden, Snow, Jones and Pollard ($18.2mil), but is that what the Nets would want? I don't see much possible combinations without getting rid of multiple bigs and then the Cavs would be completely screwed down low.

Why wouldn't the Nets want that last deal?...They finally get a low post threat, and rebounder in Gooden, Jones is a descent outside threat, Pollard is a great bench warmer, and I believe (could be wrong ) that Snow is in a contract year, so he obviously wouldnt be long term.

Hughes makes that much? He needs to start living up to that contract.

**** Nooooooooooooo!!!!.........Kidd is fine in NJ. The Cavs don't need to land shit, all they need to do is get beat by the Pistons year in, and year out.

I wouldn't have a problem giving up Bibby for a draft pick or two as nobody on the Cav's roster, minus Lebron, really impresses me. As long as Bibby doesn't exercise his option for two extra years while with the Kings, I'll be happy.

And if the Kings can throw Kenny Thomas in there somehow, I'll be super duper happy.

Looks like him not starting wont be an issue anymore. He wont even be playing. Man I sure hope this injury keeps him out for the season. Maybe some kind of infection.

Yeah I hope he's injured too, so he doesnt steal another MVP award and so we have a shot at the division, we're 9.5 games behind.

I like the looks of those deals with Gooden and Snow invloved. Throw in Damon Jones and that would make me really happy. Plus getting rid of Collins somewhere in there would also rock. But I just don't see the Cavs doing that.

As for the Lakers, I really don't know what to pick without sounding too harsh. But sorry, Smush, Turiaf, and a second rounder doesn't cut it for me. Turiaf would barely play with the quartet of Krstic, Mikki, Cliff, and Collins (I'm afraid to say), and a second rounder is not much you can look forward to. So basically, it would be Smush for Kidd. Uh-uh!

If the Cavs would be willing to give Gooden and another guard like Snow or Damon, I would like it. The nets desperately need rebounding. Kidd is our leading rebounder, so if we lose him, then we need a big man in return. You do realize that we're shipping a player almost averaging a triple-double here, right folks?

I'm not asking too much. Just what is due. It's not only the stats, but the leadership, the hustle, and the unselfishness that we're losing if we trade him. He may be getting old, but this is arguably his best season as a Net. Almost averaging a triple-double in modern day basketball is nothing short of phenomenal. How many players in the NBA can you think of that almost average a triple-double? Yeah, not that easy. So, if we're trading our franchise player and leader, I want something of value in return. As simple as that.

Oh yeah, and it turns out that Carter and Kidd are likely to stay.

You know, I was actually hoping we could get Bynum in some way or fashion. I don't really want Farmar, but Bynum looks like he could be a huge help for the Nets. Though of course I wouldn't trade Kidd for him alone.

I wish you could just take Collins. Honestly, we don't want anything in return. His absence is already a plus for us, and we won't have to play 4 on 5 basketball anymore. And as I said, I'm not giving away Kidd for Smush, because isn't Kwame Brown injured and what you call "tall for nothing?"

Man you would be crazy if you think we would give up Bynum. And Kwame comes into use when we play the Spurs and Suns and other teams where we need his big body.

Well I guess you really don't think that much of Collins 😉 We will take him if you don't wnt him, but it is a package deal. Gotta give us Kidd in return.

And why nothing about the draft pick? That pick could really turn out to be handy.

I don't think we should go first rounder, I mean 2nd rounder is really pushing it. As much as I like Kidd, his age is just the one bad thing. Usually in these types of trades teams get off giving up a 2nd-3rd rounder, even though the player is great.

Since the All Star Game is a few days away, I was wondering who is everyone's first half MVP?

I have a tie between Nash and Wade with Dirk a close third. Nash has finally put together a true MVP year as no other player affects the game more offensively and he has really shown a will to do whatever it takes to win which is something that I thought he always lacked in years past. Wade's team isn't doing well but that has nothing to with Wade. Dude is one point and two assists a game away from averaging 30ppg and 10A. That's amazing on itself along with averaging 2 steals and one block per game. He really has had to do everything just so the Heat have any chance at winning.

Kidd for Kwame, Farmar, McKie, and Mihm.

Why would they want Farmar when they have Marcus Williams?
